In August 2000 “Tom Rolt” returned to service after its 10-yearly boiler inspection and overhaul; it carries the standard TR deep bronze green livery it wheres since. No. 7 was the inspiration for the famous Thomas the Tank Engine character "Ivo Hugh" in the later Thomas The Tank Engine books by Christopher Awdry.

Ltd. in Kilmarnock, Ayrshire in Scotland, for the Airservice Construction Corps. From 1921 until 1945 it worked at the RAF railway at Calshot Spit, Southampton. After a period in store at Calshot it was bought in 1949 by Abelson & Co. (Engineers) Ltd. who presented it to the Talyllyn in 1953. After overhaul and alteration from 2ft to 2ft 3in gauge, it entered service in 1954 and was named ‘Douglas’ at the donor’s request. Although smaller than the other locos it has performed well and was returned to service in 1995, having been fitted with a new boiler and turned out in its old Air Ministry Works & Buildings livery. On 21st February 2018, it was the 100th Birthday of ‘Douglas’. To commemorate the centenary a new livery reflecting its RAF heritage was commissioned. This is the history of the Talyllyn Railway’s ex Corris Railway Kerr Stuart & Co built Tattoo Class 0-4-2ST No. 4 "Edward Thomas". Built in 1921 by Kerr, Stuart & Co. Ltd. at Stoke on Trent, for use on the Corris Railway, and was purchased by the Talyllyn Railway in 1951 following closure of the Corris Railway and named after the TR’s former manager. After repairs carried out by the Hunslet Engine Company works in Leeds, the engine entered service on the Talyllyn in 1952 and has proved most successful. From 1958 until 1969 a Giesel ejector was fitted instead of a conventional chimney, the first such installation in the British Isles. No. 4 was the inspiration for the famous Thomas the Tank Engine character "Peter Sam", in the Thomas the Tank Engine books, and until 2000 was running in the guise of “Peter Sam”, in red livery. It was then repainted into British Railways black, the colour scheme it might have acquired had the Corris line survived a little longer into the days of British Railways. An extensive overhaul, which has included the fitting of a new boiler, was completed in late May 2004 and the loco returned to public service on Sunday 30th May as “Edward Thomas”, in unlined green livery. The loco is currently in standard TR livery of deep bronze green lined with black borders and yellow lining. “Edward Thomas” is currently undergoing its 10 year overhaul which is nearing the final stages as of 2024, and will be turned out in Works Grey Livery for the first time.

However the resort itself is closed and now abandoned but I’m pretty sure the farm isn’t and I believe it’s still maintained when needed.
