Originally delivered as DRG No. 99 715, it kept this identity through to 1949 and from then with DR, later No. 99 1715 working until 1973. It was then displayed outside Bf Radebeul-Ost in it’s original identity, in 1992 on the books of the succeeding DB. In 1993 it was plinthed outside and opposite the former Bw Willsdruff but moved, in 1999 to Zittau. Following a spell at RAW Meiningen in 2007, it again moved to the Preßnitztalbahn.

This was originally DRG as No. 99 713, through WW2 to 1949 when it then became DR, later No. 99 1713-9 and, from 1992 on accession of DB, computerised No. 099 720-5.

Following work for EFS as No. 315, it continued with EFA Säo Paulo, then from 1964 mining company, EFSPM as No. 207. It has been preserved at Rio Clara, State of Säo Paula, Brazil.

Originally Sächsische Staatsbahn No. 2129, being absorbed into the DRG in 1925 as No. 94 2105, an identity it kept through to 1949 with DR. From 1964 it was at RAW Zwickau but from 1983 preserved privately at VSE, Swartzenberg where it remains.

Originally Sächsische Staatsbahn No. 207, that became in 1925, DRG No. 19 017 through to 1945, with SBZ, and in 1949 to DR to around 1971 in the same identity. In 1972 it was made a Tradionslok in Dresden, since being kept both at Chemnitz-Hilbersdorf and Dresden-Altstadt depots.

Built too late for it’s intended use, it was initially delivered to the store in Dallgow-Döberitz as No. HF 2738 before being sent to Sena Sugar Estates, Sugar plantation Labou, Mozambique, later at Marromeu as No. 10. In 1998 it was purchased privately by a UK individual in Warwickshire and in 2000 went from the UK to Chemnitz on display.

Extensive research reflects that Henschel & Sohn No. 15972 is not extant and that this could well be Hartmann 4141/1918 delivered as HF 2309 to the store at Bw Hanau before going on to Bialostocka, Poland and becoming Tx 207 (some information has it recorded as Tx-1114, which is. O&K 8615/1918, both locomotives going to Bialostocka?). Another HF, No. 2539, was also at Bw Hanau store until being sent in 1919 to Sweden.

The ex Kilnhurst Tar Works Andrew Barclay built 0-4-0ST Works No. 2217 "Henry Ellison" has relocated to the Cambrian Heritage Railway at Oswestry in Shropshire on following a announced partnership between the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway and the Cambrian Heritage Railway to have the locomotive on loan to them for the 2022 season.

The BR built LMS Ivatt Class 2MT 2-6-2T No. 41312 will visit the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway as their third visiting locomotive for their Cotswold Festival of Steam weekend on the 3rd to 5th of June 2022. Which will have a strong Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway theme to the Gala.

This was originally HF 2308 delivered to Hanau. From 1919 it worked for Sophia Colliery, Hückelhoven as their No. 1, retiring in 1971. The following year it was purchased for the Aspen Valley Railroad, Texas as their No. 1 and in 1976 by High County Railroad, Golden, Colorado. In 2005 it was purchased privately by Peter Nott of Bitter Creek Western Railroad as No. 8 at it’s current location.

Originally delivered to Sächsische Staatsbahn as No. 194 to Kirchberg; It became DRG No. 99 604 from 1925, through to 1949 with the new DR and carrying the same identity until being re-numbered (prior to unification) to o. 99 1604 though it won’t have lasted long (indeed if ever bearing that number on the cusp of change!) in that identity as it was officially withdrawn in November 1968. In 1970 it was stored by DGEG and in 1989 moved to their store in Bruchhausen-Villen prior to be returned to Sachsen, on display at Radebeul OST.

This is actually DSM No. 35, later PJKA No. 35 named “PIKA”, not 38 - sorry! It is also Hartmann 3721/1914, NOT 3724! Quite a handsome locomotive.

In 1976 it left the then East Germany to work on the Urskog-Hollands Railway in Norway as No. UHB 8 but in 1984 was purchased privately by a W Henke of Berlin. In 1990, having being re-patriated, it was at the Öchsle Museumsbahn in it’s former DRG identity. From early 1995 it was at Rügensche Kleinbahn, later being purchased by H Schöntag of Straupitz. It spent some time working in Romania from 2006, but was back at Putbus by 2012.

At the closing of 1996, now with DB, it went to l in it’s original DR guise, though in 2013 it was re-painted SS light green, numbered No. 176 and steamed on the Loßgrunditzbahn.

Another former Sächsische Staatsbahn locomotive, originally delivered to Lommatzsch. It was taken into DRG stock in 1925 as No. 99 579, working in this identity through to 1949, then with DR in that identity, later as No. 99 1759 then No. 99 1579-4. Bearing boiler No. 3449, it has been at the Sächsische Narrow Gauge Museum in Oberrittergrün since 1972.

Another locomotive that was originally Sächsische (rather than kkSteb) Staatsbahn No. 164 at Lommatzsch, which in 1925 became DRG to No. 99 574, retaining that identity though to 1949 working then for DR. Later it was re-numbered, firstly as 99 1574, then computerised as 99 1574-5. From 1992 DB inherited all the principal German railways, this then becoming No. 099 707-2. It was still working on the by now ‘privatised’ Döllnitzbahn in 1993 in it’s former DR identity, but has more recently moved round Sachsen to work on other remaining lines.

Status should be "Display" for the time being. C571 blew out its left piston while pulling the "SL-Yamaguchi" excursion on October 10, 2020. Towed back to Kyoto a week later, not much progress has been made on repairing the locomotive after an initial inspection. As of the time of writing, it can be seen on display at the Umekoji Depot roundhouse.

The ex LMS Jubilee Class 4-6-0 No. 45596 "Bahamas" is to visit the Nene Valley Railway again for a week from the 5th to 9th of June 2022, and will also take part in the Queens Jubilee Celebration on 5th June.

This was originally Samara g Java Railway No. 1014, prior to No. 301T. Please see my note of Hartmann 3549 regarding this locomotive.
