The former Darjeeling-Himalayan Railway Sharp Stewart built B Class 0-4-0ST No. 19 is the only ex Darjeeling-Himalayan Railway steam locomotive to be preserved outside of India. No. 19 was built by Sharp Stewart & Co at their Glasgow works in Scotland in 1889 to work on the now world-famous Darjeeling Himalayan Railway in India. No. 19 worked at Darjeeling until 1960 when it was withdrawn from service and placed in a scrap line there where it would remain until it was saved for preservation by Elliott Donnelly. An American who moved the locomotive from India to the USA for restoration in Chicago. No. 19 then ran for a number of years in the states until 1988 when it last ran at the Hesston Steam Museum. In 2002 the locomotive was bought for preservation in the UK by its current owner Adrian Shooter who shipped it back to the UK in 2003. No. 19 was fully overhauled and rebuilt at Tyseley Locomotive Works and returned to steam in 2004. Since then No. 19 has operated at its home on the private Beeches Light Railway as well as touring around the UK visiting other preserved narrow gauge railways. No. 19 still has its original boiler from 1889 still which is the oldest boiler to be steamed in the UK and No. 19 today is currently still operational.

All Indonesian steam locomotives were numbered using the same system as was used for Japanese locomotives. As such the initial letter is the number of driving axles followed by the class numbers, then the number in the class. On this site they are all presented with a separator after the class number.
