The General Steam Navigation Locomotive Society, owners of ex Southern Railway rebuilt Bulleid Merchant Navy Pacific No. 35011 "General Steam Navigation", have announced that No. 35011 will be relocating to a private site near Templecombe in Somerset for storage until funds are reached to place a contract with a heritage engineering company to commence work on the rolling chassis of the locomotive.

441 was also converted to a diesel but the boiler was found (buried) in 2002. The boiler and frames were reunited and cosmetically restored. The cylinders look like poor quality reproductions. Displayed in the Cuban NRM by 2015 to 2024+

Judging by the photo it certainly looks like a 2-8-0. So I did a search for it on the internet. All I came up with was a scale model kit for this locomotive. The makers of the kit have it as a 2-8-0 as well, so I will not be amending our records.

The former Eaton Hall Railway 1896 built 15inch gauge 0-4-0T "Katie", will be taking part on display with many other locomotives from around the UK at the Greatest Gathering at Litchurch Lane works in Derby as part of the Railway 200 celebrations from the 1st to 3rd of August 2025. To mark 200 years of opening of the Stockton and Darlington Railway and 200 years of the modern railway we all know and use today. Being the oldest operational 15inch gauge steam locomotive still running, "Katie" will be operating on a short section of 15inch gauge track giving rides during the event.

The ex Dinorwic Slate Quarries quarry Hunslet 0-4-0ST Works No. 779 "Holy War", is visiting the Severn Valley Railway for their Railway 200: Trains Through The Ages event on the 5th and 6th of July 2025, and will be operating on a temporary narrow gauge track set up at their Engine House at Highley, offering footplate rides during the event.

The ex Indonesian Forestry Service, Hunslet built 0-4-2ST (Works No. 3902) No. 4 "Trangkil" which was the very last steam locomotive to be built in the UK for export in 1971, will be taking part on display at with many other locomotives from around the UK and will be operating in steam on a specially built demonstration line at the Greatest Gathering at Litchurch Lane works in Derby as part of the Railway 200 celebrations from the 1st to 3rd of August 2025. The Yugoslavian built Class 62 USA Type 0-6-0T No. 30075 (JZ 62.669), underwent another steam test where its boiler pressure up to the full working pressure of 200 psi. Not only that, No. 30075 is now operational as the locomotive moved under its own steam for the first time in over 15 years - since 2010. With just a few more issues to resolve and then Project 62, who own the locomotive, will call in the boiler inspector for one last steam test and to issue the 10 year ticket for No. 30075 to operate on the heritage railway circuit again soon.

In a surprise move, the ex Southern Railway Bulleid rebuilt Battle of Britain Class light Pacific No. 34059 "Sir Archibald Sinclair", is returning to the mainline briefly as the locomotive is being moved from the Bluebell Railway via Network Rail’s mainline to London for a private openday event. This is the first time that No. 34059 has ventured onto the mainline since 1966 and will be taken up as part of a consist to the capital. No. 34059 is being hauled from the Bluebell Railway to London and back by a Freightliner Class 66 Diesel Electric locomotive along with a few freight wagons for braking that will move the locomotive safely along Network Rail’s mainline’s into London.

The unique ex British Gas Light Co. and Brookfield Foundry Kerr Stuart & Co built "Witch" Class 0-4-0ST Works No. 4388, is visiting the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway for their Back to the 40s event from the 13th to 15th of June 2025.

This steam railcar is operational. I rode in it on a trip from Bahnpark Brugg to Hendschiken on 7/6/25 (Bahnpark annual open weekend).

The former War Department, Hunslet built Austerity 0-6-0ST (Works No. 3797) No. 25 "Northiam", has now left the Kent & East Sussex Railway as its owner Steve Latham has relocated it to the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway at Haverthwaite in Cumbria, which will be its new long term home and will be a usful addion to their running fleet there.

Following a change of ownership, the ex Iron Co. Andrew Barclay built 0-6-0T (Works No. 1245) No. 14, has now left the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway and has now relocated to a private site at Burton-on-Trent in Staffordshire.

The former Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad Class J3a Greenbrier 4-8-4 No. 614, has now left the C&O Railway Heritage Center and is now relocating to its new home at the Strasburg Railroad at Strasburg in the state of Pennsylvania, where it will undergo a full 1472-day Overhaul to returning it to steam again which the work will be carried out by Strasburg Railroad Mechanical Services in their workshops there.
