with the museum having multiple ongoing projects, and the size and condition of this locomotive, it seems very unlikely it will be restored in the near future. Maybe after the Chloe and Emma Nevada are finished there might be a cosmetic job.

The ex Logan & Hemingway, 1891 Manning Wardle built 0-6-0ST Works No. 1210 "Sir Berkeley", is making a return visit to the Mid Suffolk Light Railway for the summer season from Mid July and staying until the end of August 2025, and will be the star of the show for the opening of the Aspell Extension there on Friday the 1st of August 2025 and will be hauling trains on subsequent public open days until the end of the month.

The ex LMS ‘Stanier Mogul’ 2-6-0 No. 13268, is now back in service at the Severn Valley Railway following its winter maintenance which has seen the replacing of the hopper-type ashpan with a rake out type. Its owners the Stanier Mogul Fund says that the hopper one was problematic due to warping, which was caused by excess heat from the hot ash and this caused it to jam. For its upcoming part in the Greatest Gathering at Derby from the 1st to 3rd of August 2025, the locomotive will be moved to Derby via the mainline with a diesel hauling it there in late July 2025.

As part of the Greatest Gathering at Derby, the worlds most famous locomotive ex LNER A3 Class Pacific No. 60103 (No. 4472) "Flying Scotsman", will be hauling a mainline charter train under her custodian, Northern Steam Operations Limited on the mainline for the first time since 2023. "Flying Scotsman" will be hauling a Belmond British Pullman Train on the leg from Wellingborough to Derby taking high priced visitors to the event on the 2nd of August 2025, and might make an appearance at the event then??

The famous new-build (LNER designed) A1 Class Pacific 4-6-2 No. 60163 "Tornado", will be returning home to her birth town of Darlington to her base in the A1 Steam Locomotive Trust’s new Darlington Locomotive Works which is soon to be rail connected to Network Rail at Hopetown, Darlington where she will be in light steam on display during their Titans of Steam Gala as part of Railway 200 from the 20th of September to the 5th of October 2025.

The new-build BR Standard Class 3MT 2-6-2T No. 82045, which is in the final stages of construction will be on display in near complete form at the Greatest Gathering at Litchurch Lane works in Derby as part of the Railway 200 celebrations from the 1st to 3rd of August 2025. To mark 200 years of opening of the Stockton and Darlington Railway and 200 years of the modern railway we all know and use today.

The ex Devon County Council, Kerr Stuart & Co built 0-4-0ST Wren Works No. 4256 "Peter Pan", will be visiting a number of narrow gauge railways in and outside of the UK during the summer of 2025. The locomotive will be visiting the West Lancashire Light Railway for their Summer Gala on the 2nd and 3rd of August 2025, and will visit the Lincolnshire Coast Light Railway for the very first time to take part in a photo charter on the 29th and 30th of August 2025, and will head out to Belgium to visit the Pairi Daiza Zoo Railway for their 20th anniversary on the weekend of the 13th and 14th of September 2025, and returning home to the UK to visit the Hayling Light Railway for a special steam weekend on the 20th and 21st of September 2025.

The ex LMS Black Five 4-6-0 No. 45491, is leaving the Great Central Railway as the railway have asked its owner to remove the locomotive and relocate to a new home, which if no new home can be found there is a worry that No. 45491 could be broken up for spares??

This locomotive is NOT at Boothbay Railway Village, but rather stored at Maine Locomotive and Machine Works in Alna, Maine.

The engine is still in Baraboo, WI. It is setting outside at a trucking yard just down the street from the shop where it had been worked on. I saw it and took photos of it on 5/26/25......MLD

Byron Hiatt had an amusement park east of Creston iowa first, then moved to Martensdale iowa. the Creston Iowa museum has some nice pictures on their web site of these engines

During its visit to the Mid Norfolk Railway for their Summer Southern Steam Gala from the 27th to 29th of June 2025, ex Southern Railway rebuilt Bulleid Battle of Britain Class Light Pacific No. 34053 "Sir Keith Park" ("303 Squadron"), will still be running as long lost scrapped class mate No. 34050 "Royal Observer Corps", still from the Spa Valley Railway’s Cuckoo Line Gala, as their was not time to change the locomotive back to her own name and number in time for the Mid Norfolk Railway’s own Steam Gala. But it will be a unique chance to see No. 34053 in this guise for the second time then!
