Classic North Eastern Railway freight power. NER class T2 (LNER class Q6), a 2 cylinder 0-8-0 mainly used for heavy mineral haulage, these engines were some of the last pre-grouping locos in the UK when withdrawn in 1967.63395 had a brush with the scrap man, but was saved at the 11th hour by the North Eastern Locomotive Preservation Group. Normally based at Grosmont, North Yorkshire Moors Railway, it hasn't steamed for over 20 years, but is currently undergoing an overhaul at NELPG's workshop in Darlington.
