FEC 253 is now in Abbeville Alabama undergoing cosmetic restoration. She is apart of the Jimmy Raines collection.

Engine is no longer in Fort Pierce. The city booted the group off the piece of public property they were sitting on. Engine and equipment had to be moved into storage at the U.S. Sugar complex in Clewistown, FL alongside the FEC 148 project. Engine is no longer under active restoration.

The #253 was purchased by Mr. Steve Spreckelmeier and Mr. Bob Bates in August 1998 2 weeks before she was due to be scrapped. She is now in Fort Pierce, FL.

The 253 is located at 1401 N. 2nd Street, Fort pierce, Fl. In addition to restoring the 253 to fully operational condition we have built an Historical Railway & Transportation Museum that is open to the public for guided tours every Saturday from 10:00AM until 5:00PM. Come and visit us any Saturday, we would love to meet you and show you around. We are a not-for-profit organization therefore we rely soley on donations and memberships. Please visit our website www.slafec253.org. You can make a donation from our website and you can also download a membership form if you would like to be a part of our crew. We invite those of all ages to come and see the 253 as she is being restored. We are a working museum so you will see people working on the train, the museum and various pieces of equipment.
