This engine is only considered to be parts. It will be used as a boiler for the No.7, and some other smaller parts. Afterwards remains will likely be scrapped.

No.9 was originally Moore Kepple No.6, not No.8. She was originally intended to be CSRR No.8. I believe this was changed at the time the Mountain State organization took over the project to be more in line with Cass history.

With the last steam tests completed, the Yugoslavian built Class 62 USA 0-6-0T No. 30075 (JZ 62.669), now has its new 10-year boiler ticket and the locomotive is now ready to begin test runs and running-in trials before entering service on the heritage railway circuit.

Research revealed that some user supplied parameters for weights and dimensions were incorrect. The incorrect parameters were removed and the correct (and verified) values remain.

A site visitor had posted a note indicating that this locomotive is No. 2, not Unknown. In fact, there are two locomotives at Cana (both abandoned since 1907). No. 2 has a separate listing in our site exists. As does this locomotive, for which the number is unknown. The erroneous note is gone.

Following repairs to its motion and running gear, the unique BR Standard 8P Class Pacific No. 71000 "Duke of Gloucester", has been undergoing its series mainline test runs between Crewe and Chester in the coming weeks. When the mainline test runs are completed No. 71000 will go into the paint shops at LNWR Heritage to be fully painted into its BR Brunswick Green livery and its first mainline charter trains with Locomotive Services Ltd will be on their Christmas Trains during December 2025.
