Great Western Railroad 2-8-0 No. 60Posted by: Matthew Gardner on Apr 10, 2019 @ 16:04:22
I spoke with a man who was a lifelong employee at Black River. He told me that 60 was the black sheep of the Great Western. She was the least liked of the crews in Colorado, and whenever there was a slum in traffic, 60 was always the first engine to go in storage. It was mostly due to the fact she was an Alco as opposed to a Baldwin, and she was a Demonstrator of a series of engines that was never produced. So she had some bugs that were never worked out.

Seaboard Air Line Ry 0-4-0T No. 1003Posted by: Matthew Gardner on Apr 10, 2019 @ 16:04:59
This engine was at one time a steam Dummy. And, there were 2 engines at this location according to the R. Conrad book. All the equipment at this location belonged to the Cradle Of The Confederacy Railroad Museum. An entity that I guess never succeeded. The second engine was a straight industrial tank engine.
