As ILFORD reported earlier, the correct identity of this locomotive, borne out also by Achim, is CFR No.230 163 but bears this number on only one cab side; the other side bears No. 230.128 (this locomotive apparently long since scrapped). Accordingly the build identity also needs resfresing.

This locomotive 230.128 was reportedly scrapped in 1996. Do not confuse it with the 230.163, which mistakenly has number plates from the 128.

To add to the controversy, I have this as BMAG 9755/1930, new to CFR as No. 230 128 ?

This locomotive was copied from a German steam locomotive class. It was built in romania using the same design as the prussian p8 class.

This loco is 230-163, one cab side plate is 230-163 and the other side is 230-128.
