GWR 0-6-0PT No. 7752 (London Transport L94) has arrived at the West Somerset Railway as it has been hired in to be part of there running fleet for the 2019 season there.

Sadly again the visit of LNER B1 No. 61306 "Mayflower" to the Nene Valley Railway in June has been cancelled this time due to Network Rail unable to give a path to a mainline railtour that the locomotive was going to haul that would have seen 61306 come off at Peterborough and make her way to the Nene Valley from there.

The original locomotive was built by Th Munktells Mekaniska Verkstad, Eskilstuna, their No.1 in 1853. The works was only open from 1853 to 1893. The replica, a 0-4-0WT (Well Tank) was built by the museum in 2004.

14 Made her public debut on 3/20/2019. It is painted red and black, and is heavily americanized. 13 is no longer operational and 504 and 14 are operational.

MAV 376.694 is easily accesible without leaving the station. She is located to the rear of Platform 1 just beyond the end of the platform canopy.

The ex Royal Ordnance Factory Bagnall Built 0-4-0ST No. 2648 now renamed "Dunlop No. 6" is in service and has gone on loan to the Telford Steam Railway for the 2019 season and will be back at the Chasewater Railway in the winter.

No. 6201 "Princess Elizabeth" made a very successful loaded mainline test run on the 28th of March 2019 which the locomotive passed with flying colours and is now back in service again since 2016. No. 6201 with have some small jobs to be done and a repaint before she enters service on the mainline steam circuit in the summer.

Sadly due to a mechanical failure the visit of No. 1450 to the South Devon Railway for their 50th anniversary Gala has had to be cancelled. There could be a chance of the locomotive visiting for the second weekend of the Gala on the 13th and 14th if repairs can be done before then but there is no guaranteed?

The Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railways Krauss built 0-4-0T+T No. 4 "The Bug" is to visit the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway for their biggest steam gala of the year from the 4th to the 6th of May 2019.

424.120 was delivered on 20th September 1943 to Budapest Ferencbaros. After the end of WW2, she spent some time in Austria based at Graz being used by the UK occupation forces. In March 1952 she was based at Miskolc. She appears to have been used on various enthusiast specials until the late 1980s and is now in the hands of the Rail Museum at Fertoboz.

The rebuilding and construction of GWR Saint Class 4-6-0 No. 2999 "Lady of Legend" is now completed as the locomotive was steamed and moved for the very first time yesterday at Didcot. This marks No. 2999 as the second brand new steam locomotive to enter service in the UK after No. 60163 "Tornado". No. 2999 will be launched in to service this weekend on the 6th and 7th of April 2019. The locomotive will remain at Didcot for the rest of the year for running in before it can go on visits to other preserved railways around the UK from next year.

The former Ibero-American Exposition 15inch gauge Krauss built pacific No. 8457 "Whillan Beck" will be making its first visit away from its Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway home as the locomotive is visiting the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway in Kent for their Steam and Diesel Gala weekend on the 11th and 12th of May 2019.

The ex Manchester Ship Canal Hudswell Clark built 0-6-0T "Gothenburg" will be painted back as Thomas The Tank Engine again as it will be going on what will be a number of visits abroad to the Odense National Railway Museum in Denmark for their Day Out With Thomas event out there on the 16th to 19th of May 2019 and onwards. There is also a possible visit to the Dutch National Railway Museum at Utrecht in the Netherlands for their Day Out With Thomas events out there as well?

Lechwedd Slate Quarry loco Edith was an 0-4-0ST built by W.G. Bagnall in 1890. In 1930 it was rebuilt as an electric loco with twin trolley pole collection for the power and a 15hp motor.

It was renamed Coalition, probably because 1930 saw a coalition government under Ramsay MacDonald in the UK.

Lechwedd Slate Quarry loco Margaret was an 0-4-0ST built by W.G. Bagnall in 1895. In 1927 it was rebuilt as an electric loco with twin trolley pole collection for the power and a 15hp motor.

It was renamed The Eclipse, probably because 1927 was the year that an total eclipse of the sun was visible in the UK.

424.320 was delivered on 21st December 1956 and spent most of her life based at Nyerighaza. She was withdrawn from Puspokladany on 26th January 1982. She is now on display at Szolnok Station and is easily accessible. Come out of the main station entrance, turn right and she is located about 200 metres walk away.

The ex Frys chocolate factory Sentinel built 4wVBGT shunter No. 7492 undertook a test run along the Avon Valley line last Friday to Oldland and back with no problems then minor tweaks needed. The locomotive is set for its official launched in to service at the Avon Valley Railway over the Easter weekend.

I saw this locomotive here in 1968 and I know it was here in 1963. The live in watchman at the time told me that he owned it and that he had worked at Cagney when he was a young man.

According to the website Railway Preservation News, Interchange, as of March 30th, 2019 the locomotive has been sold to the city of Anna, Texas for display in a park within the city. Also according to the city, the locomotive will be refurbished I am thinking more of a cosmetic restoration. Now how soon the locomotive will move from Arkansas to Texas,?

The Strasburg Railroads Thomas The Tank Engine is being repainted in time for the Day out with Thomas season in the United States of America.
