The ex Samuel Fox & Co Hudswell Clarke built 0-6-0T (Works No. 1731) No. 20 "Jennifer", is currently undergoing overhaul at the Flour Mill Works at Bream in Gloucestershire.

Restoration on ex GWR 2884 Class 2-8-0 No. 3814, from Barry Scrapyard condition is progressing well at Northern Steam Engineering Limited, as the wheels have been returned after having new tyres fitted in the workshops at Buckfastleigh the South Devon Railway, and have been placedback under the main chassie and new lubrication pads and felts to all the axel boxes have been fitted. The pony frame has been assembled and horn stays refitted.

This locomotive is a rotary snowplough. Originally built for the FCTA (Ferrocarril Trasandino Argentino), it became part of FCGB upon nationalisation in 1948. Following withdrawal it was placed at Cruz del Eje for display. A visit in January 2024 showed the loco still on site. It can be seen sticking out of a wall next to the station platform.

The 2008-built Hunslet Wren 0-4-0ST Works No. 3905 "Jennie". is visiting Bressingham Steam Museum for their Heritage Steam Gala over the May Bank holiday weekend from the 4th to 6th of May 2024, and will be operating on their Fen Railway during the Gala.

BR Standard 9F 2-10-0 No. 92203 "Black Prince", has now arrived at Bressingham Steam Museum near Diss in Norfolk, for display undercover for two years. No. 92203 will make her debut on display during Bressingham Steam Museum’s Heritage Steam Gala over the May Bank holiday weekend from the 4th to 6th of May 2024.

The ex United States Army Transportation Corps S160 2-8-0 No. 5197, has completed a mechanical exam, steam test and brake test along with a test run which it has passed successfully. 2024 will be the last year of service of No. 5197 at the Churnet Valley Railway as the locomotive will be withdrawn from service at the end of the year for her next overhaul. No. 5197 will be taking part in the Churnet Valley Railway’s upcoming Steam Gala Weekend from the 4th to 6th of May 2024, which will be No. 5197’s last Steam Gala appearance for now.

The National Railway Museum’s ex Southern Railway Schools Class 4-4-0 No. 30925 "Cheltenham", is currently in storage at Ropley on the Mid Hants Railway (Watercress Line), awaiting its next overhaul or possible future??

The ex Southern Railway Bulleid West Country Class Light Pacific No. 34105 "Swanage", is in storage on the head shunt siding at Ropley, under a tarpaulin sheet. It was under overhaul but was stopped and was placed into storage while the Mid Hants Railway (Watercress Line) focused on other locomotives made a top priority to overhaul and restore. There are no current plans for No. 34105 at this time??

Its been announced, that BR Standard 9F 2-10-0 No. 92203 "Black Prince", will be going on loan to nearby Bressingham Steam Museum for undercover display in their standard gauge exhibition hall. No. 92203 will spend the next two years at Bressingham until workshop space at the North Norfolk Railway and funding towards it are available for her overhaul.

With the overhaul and rebuild on ex LNER A2 Pacific No. 60532 "Blue Peter", now completed, work on the overhaul and rebuild on ex GWR Castle Class 4-6-0 No. 5029 "Nunney Castle", has now picked up at LNWR Heritage at Crewe as the locomotive has been moved over to the spot in the workshop relinquished by No. 60532 for work to continue.

The ex GWR King Class 4-6-0 No. 6024 "King Edward I", is still awaiting to be stripped down for detailed engineering inspection at LNWR Heritage at Crewe for a full extent of what remedial work is needed on the locomotive still.

The ex Southern Railway rebuilt Bulleid Merchant Navy Class Pacific No. 35005 "Canadian Pacific", (or CanPac as she is sometimes known) has now left Arlington Rail Services, Engineering site at its birth place of Eastleigh, and has returned home to the Mid-Hants Railway (Watercress Line) at Alresford in Hampshire, for final completion of her overhaul and rebuild which is now in its final stages.

The former Cupar Sugar Beet Factory, Andrew Barclay built 0-4-0ST (Works No. 1863) No. 1, has now been withdrawn from service at the Caledonian Railway, and is now awating overhaul which it needs some heavy work needed on it. But it might be in for some wait as the locomotive is to small for use on the Caledonian Railway needs these days now.
