No. 34092 "City of Wells" has been loaned the tender from No. 34067 "Tangmere" as her own tender has develop a fault and is under repair. The loaning of 34067s tender will let 34092 continue in service.

As part of the 75th anniversary of the D-Day Landings and as a tribute and honour to the D-Day Heroes ex United States Army Transport Corps S160 2-8-0 No. 2253 is to be officially named ‘OMAHA’. No. 2253 ‘OMAHA’ is in its final stages of overhaul and will soon begin test runs on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway before taking up residence at the Dartmouth Steam Railway from July 2019.

The ex Holborough Cement Co. Aveling Porter built 2-2-0GWT Railway Traction Engine No. 9449 "The Blue Circle" is relocating to the Nene Valley Railway as she is going on long term loan to them. The locomotive will make its debut at the Nene Valley during their Steam Rally on the weekend of the 15th and 16th of June 2019.

Built for Dundee gasworks in 1901 as a two foot gauge 0-4-0 well tank design. The loco worked there until 1959 when it moved to Caledon shipbuilding, still in Dundee. It was preserved by the late Ian Fraser, who relocated it to the Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway in 1976. There it was substantially rebuilt as a 15 inch gauge 0-4-2 side tank loco. It was rebuilt again in 1996 producing the tender loco of today.

The album photos show the two rebuilt forms of the loco, but we would like a photo of it on original condition if anyone can help.

Further to my earlier note, an archaeological investigation of the loco is taking place at Locomotion, Shildon by Dr Michael Bailey and Dr Peter Davison, two highly respected researchers into the provenance of early locomotives. Using photographs, measurements and careful dismantling of parts, it is hoped to solve the riddle of the origins this loco.

Joachim Lutz records that the loco was supplied new to VEB Orbitaplast, Weißant-Gölzau, moving to Chemische Werke Buna, Schkopau, as their No.22. In 1979 it moved to Reichsbahnkraftwerk, 06804 Muldenstein as their No2.

The sole surviving North Eastern Railway C Class or LNER J21 0-6-0 No. 65033 is being relocated to Locomotive Maintenance Services at Loughborough in Leicestershire where its long awaited restoration to steam again will take place at.

The ex NCB Newtongrange Andrew Barclay built 0-6-0ST No. 29 "Lady Victoria" has now left the Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway and now moved to the National Mining Museum, Scotland at Lady Victoria Colliery at Newtongrange in Midlothian where it will be on display as part of a railway display there.

Sadly due to problems during its visit to the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway the visit of No. 419 to the Epping Ongar Railway has had to be cancelled. No. 419 is to return home to the Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway for repairs.

Following from the withdraw from service of No. 5786 (L92) for repairs. No. 5526 is going on hire again to the Chinnor & Princes Risborough Railway as there main steam locomotive for the 2019 season.

The visit of No. 47 "Fambridge" for the opening of the Leiston Works Railway in Suffolk has had to be cancelled due to a crack in the firebox which repairs are underway.
