The sole surviving ex Caledonian Railway 439 Class 0-4-4T No. 419 (LMS Number No. 15189), will be making a return visit to the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway for their Cotsworld Festival of Steam from the 23rd to 25th of May 2026.

The sole surviving ex Caledonian Railway 439 Class 0-4-4T No. 419 (LMS Number No. 15189) will be visiting the ALSTOM Glasgow Traincare Depot at Polmadie in Glasgow for their depot open day being held on the 12th of October 2025. This is bit of a homecoming for the locomotive as No. 15189 was shedded at Polmadie depot from 1952 to 1959 during the days of British Railways where it worked suburban passenger traffic and station pilot duties in and around Glasgow Central.

The sole surviving ex Caledonian Railway 439 Class 0-4-4T No. 419, has been unveiled in its new LMS Crimson lake Maroon livery with its LMS Number No. 15189, for the first time since the early 1920s and in preservation. The now No. 15189 will return to traffic at the Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway following its repaint along with intermediate boiler that had been carried out work.

The sole surviving ex Caledonian Railway 439 Class 0-4-4T No. 419 (55189), is being repainted from its BR Lined Black livery into LMS Crimson lake Maroon livery with its LMS Number No. 15189, for the first time in preservation.

The sole surviving ex Caledonian Railway 439 Class 0-4-4T No. 55189 (419), is visiting the Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway for the first time for a special photo charter over the weekend of the 9th and 10th of November 2024, to recreate a near classic Scottish Highland branch line scene from the 1950s and early 1960s.

During her visit down the south of the UK, the sole surviving ex Caledonian Railway 439 Class 0-4-4T No. 55189 (419), will visit the Chinnor and Princes Risborough Railway for the first time as their third visiting locomotive for their first ever Steam Gala Weekend from the 13th to 15th of September 2024.

The sole surviving ex Caledonian Railway 439 Class 0-4-4T No. 55189 (419), is making a return visit to the Spa Valley Railway in Kent, to help celebrate fellow former Caledonian Railway 812 Class Standard 0-6-0 Goods No. 828’s 125th birthday, which will see the two sole surviving operational Caledonian Railway steam locomotives operating once again together in the South of England with their distinctive Caley barks for a rare opportunity to see them working together on two weekends from Friday the 30th & Saturday 31st of August and the 7th & 8th September 2024.

The sole surviving ex Caledonian Railway 439 Class 0-4-4T No. 55189 (419) is in need of a new Westinghouse Air Pump as its own original one has suffered serious frost damage several decades ago and was weld repaired at the time. The pump’s condition has now deteriorated to the extent it now requires replacement. A new replacement complete Westinghouse pump of the correct type in good condition, together with a substantial amount of spare parts, has been found in the United States of America, and the Scottish Railway Preservation Society are appealling to raise £6,000 to help cover the purchase and related shipping costs to bring it to the UK. For the first time ever the sole surviving ex Caledonian Railway 439 Class 0-4-4T No. 55189 (419) is visiting the North Yorkshire Moors Railway as their fouth visiting locomotive at their 50th Anniversary Steam Gala from the 21st to 24th of September 2023. I will also be the first time that a 0-4-4T Steam locomotive has ever worked along the North Yorkshire Moors Railway in prservation then.

The sole surviving ex Caledonian Railway 439 Class 0-4-4T No. 419 is to be repainted into British Railways lined Black livery as No. 55189 for a second time in preservation this year for a limited time only. The repaint into BR livery will only last a year in service as the now No. 55189 is to visit the Strathspey Railway for a photo charter event on the 24th and 25th of April 2023 and also a number of other events during the year.

Before and after its visit to the Spa Valley Railway ex Caledonian Railway 439 Class 0-4-4T No. 419 will visit the Battlefield Line Railway over the weekend in March 2022 from the 27th to 28th and then over the Easter weekend from the 16th to 18th of April 2022.

Sadly due to problems during its visit to the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway the visit of No. 419 to the Epping Ongar Railway has had to be cancelled. No. 419 is to return home to the Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway for repairs.

No. 419 will visit the Epping Ongar Railway in Essex for the first time on its tour of preserved railways south of Scotland. Where the ex Caledonian Railway 0-4-4T will star at their Summer Steam Gala on the weekend of June 7th to 9th 2019.

Caledonian Railway 0-4-4T No. 419 tour around the UK keeps on going as its just been announced that the locomotive is to visit the North Norfolk Railway to be the star at their Spring Steam Gala on the 5th to 7th of April 2019.

Caledonian Railway 0-4-4T No. 419 is to travel much further South of the UK in March as the locomotive will visit the Swanage Railway in Dorset for the very first time. To be one of the big star locomotives along side visiting LNER A3 Pacific No. 60103 "Flying Scotsman" at their Spring Steam Up event from March 29th to 31st 2019. As well as running on service trains at the Swanage Railway on the weekends of March 16th to 17th and 27th to 28th.

Ex Caledonian Railway 0-4-4T No. 419 is coming south of the border for the first time since 1982 for its first ever visit to the Churnet Valley Railway. No. 419 is to star at their Winter Steam Gala on the weekend of February 23rd and 24th 2019. Replacing a unavailable GWR Manor No.7827 "Lydham Manor".

The overhaul of former Caledonian Railway 0-4-4T No. 419 has officially been completed and the locomotive has been painted in the light Blue livery of the Caledonian Railway. The locomotive will to under go test runs before it makes its public debut at the Bo ness and Kinneil Railways Autumn Steam Gala on the 2nd to 4th of November 2018.

419 has been the flagship locomotive of the SRPS (along with Maude) since preservation and has appeared in the beautiful deep blue livery of the Caledonian Railway, which has made it an icon in the local area.
