LNER A4 Pacific No. 60009 "Union of South Africa" has been added to the line up of visiting steam locomotives at the Mid-Norfolk Railway for their Steam Event from the 28th to 30th of June 2019. Where Number 9 will be running together with LMS Princess Coronation Class Pacific No. 6233 "Duchess of Sutherland" for the first time. But this will also be the final visit of Number 9 to the railway then.

Work to overhaul ex British Sugar Corporation Hudswell Clarke built 0-6-0ST "Derek Crouch" to working condition has been given the go ahead by the Nene Valley Railway. Having not steamed for 30 years the Small Loco Group hope to have No. 1539 in steam by 2024 in time for its 100th birthday and the 50th anniversary of it working the very first passenger train on the preserved Nene Valley line back in 1974.

Southern Railway S15 Class 4-6-0 No. 506 is in its final stages of its overhaul and is due to enter service at the Mid-Hants Railway from the 2nd of June 2019. The loco has been painted in 1940s Southern Wartime Black livery.

Having spent the winter at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway ex Central Electricity Generating Board Robert Stephenson & Hawthorn built 0-4-0ST No. 15 "Eustace Forth" has gone on loan to the Northampton & Lamport Railway for the 2019 season where she remain till the end of the year.

Having had repairs carried out over the early part of this year S160 2-8-0 No. 6046 has returned to traffic and has gone on hire to the Dartmouth Steam Railway in Devon for the summer season.

This engine was originally Garyville Northern Engine No. 1 and literally saw no service as Louisiana Lumber Company No 3 as it was too heavy for the tracks in the swamps of Ponchatoula,la.

LMS Black 5 No. 45110 is currently in storage at Kidderminster along with No. 7325 as the locomotive was taken out of the Engine House in July 2018. It looks set as the Black 5 is next in line for overhaul soon.

No. 6233 "Duchess of Sutherland" will be visiting the Mid-Norfolk Railway for their Steam Event from the 28th to 30th of June 2019. This will be the 3rd visit by "Duchess of Sutherland" to the railway but the first in its LMS Crimson lake Maroon livery.

No. 921 is to come out of storage and arrive at the Great Central Railway this Tuesday to relocate to its new home at the Mountsorrel Railway Museum for display.

I just heard that this engine has just gone up for sale on Ebay of all places, and that they are thinking of scrapping the engine! I hope that the engine gets a new home, and that it gets out of where it is currently located in good order. By the way, does anyone have $375,000 on them?

No. 7760 is to be overhauled back to mainline standards again as Vintage Trains plans to operate the locomotive with sister GWR 57XX pannier tank No. 7752 as a pair out on the mainline running both double-headed and singly in the future.

The NRMs working replica of "Rocket" will be visiting Tyseley Locomotive Works for their first open weekend of the year on June 22nd and 23rd 2019. This will be first runs of "Rocket" following completion of its overhaul.

The Welshpool & Llanfair Railways 1902 Beyer Peacock built 0-6-0T No. 822 "The Earl" is to be moved to the workshops at the Vale of Rheidol Railway for its overhaul. It is hoped the locomotive will return to steam again in June 2020.

504 is a Czech 0-4-0T converted to a tender engine. Was originally owned by a train enthusiast in Minnesota. In 2016, 504 and Herman Sivers no. 2, (Engine 14) were restored to operating condition by Silver Dollar City in Branson, MO. Both are operational and look amazing.

The former Carron Iron Co. Andrew Barclay built 0-6-0T No. 17 has been repainted in to a lined Black livery and has been renumbered to No. 14 and giving the name "Carron".

No. 6960 "Raveningham Hall" is to relocate to the Severn Valley Railway. But this is just temporary as the West Somerset Railway needs some heavy track work to be carried out before any GWR Halls can run along it again.

"Otter" is a new steam locomotive that was built and completed in 2019 by North Bay Railway Engineering Co. in Darlington. She is based on the ‘SIPAT’ class 0-4-0ST from Bagnalls of Stafford and similar to her 2014 built 20inch gauge sister "Georgina" at the North Bay Railway in Scarborough. "Otter" entered service at the Groudle Glen Railway over the Easter weekend.

It has been announced that No. 16 "Mannin" is to be brought out of the Port Erin Museum where it has been since 1975 to be steamed again in time for the 150th anniversary of railways on the Isle of Man in 2023. The locomotive was the last 2-4-0T to be built for the Isle of Man railways in 1926 and the most powerful. No. 16 will be moved to the workshops at Douglas next winter.
