499 is now on Display overlooking the Gorge. It survived the fires in 2013, while its caboose did not.

LMS 8F 2-8-0 No. 48305 will be making its debut back in to traffic again following completion of its overhaul at the Goods Galore Gala at the Great Central Railway on the 11th and 12th of May 2019.

No. 45596 "Bahamas" will be returning to Tyseley Locomotive Works for their open weekend on the 22nd and 23rd of June 2019 and will remain there for some mainline railtours with their Vintage Trains operations over the summer.

This East India Railway loco, built in Leeds back in 1855 is currently the worlds oldest operational steam locomotive. It worked some demonstration runs in Chennai in 2018 and in February 2019 ran on the main line with a train for the British enthusiasts group, the Locomotive Club Great Britain.

Reported to have steamed in the works yard on 28th January 2018. Restricted to the works yard for now but Indian Railways are planning to have it certified for main line operation for 2020.

QJ 6988 has been given the nick name "Iowa Bolt" which it got that name from the red lightning strips painted on its smoke deflectors.

Former Nechells Power Station Robert Stephenson & Hawthorn built 0-6-0T No. 3 "Richard III" has bid farewell to the Battlefield Line Railway as the locomotive has left there on the 8th of April 2019 following its sale to its private new owner. From a report in the Railway Magazine the locomotive is to be overhauled back in to service again and may find eventual use at the Wensleydale Railway at Leeming Bar, Yorkshire.

The ex Millom Ironworks Andrew Barclay built 0-4-0ST No. 1 "David" has returned to traffic at its Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway home following completion of overhaul from the 2nd of April 2019. The locomotive is in use for station pilot duties as well as working some of the railways off peak service and double headed Santa Specials at Christmas.

The former Coltness Iron Co. North British Locomotive Company built 0-6-0T No. 1 "Coventry" will be the 4th loco to be overhauled from the 700,000 appeal to see it back in traffic again.

Former Oxfordshire Ironstone Co. Hudswell Clark built 0-6-0T No. 1 "Sir Thomas" is the 3rd locomotive to be overhauled from the £700,000 appeal. As this was the first locomotive to haul the first passenger trains at the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre in August 1969.

The LSWR Beattie Well Tank No. 30585 is one of four locomotives to be overhauled as part of a appeal for £700,000 to have it overhauled as part the 50th anniversary of the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre.

Värmlandsteg (information http://www.värmlandståg.se/) is the name of the owners, a non-profit organisation based in Kik,(Värmland). Apparently the locomotive has been moved from Karstad and was, in 2016, slightly north of Kik, in Fryksta.

This locomotive is an 0-4-0T built by Elektromekano, Helsingborg and commissioned by Kockums mechanical workshop in Malmö. Later it was sold to Karpalunds sugar refinery, whom in turn sold it back to Elektromekano. Malmö Museums bought it from Elektromekano in 1960 and it is now in off-site storeage with MFH 1, and not on public display.

The construnction number for this locomotive is Henschel & Sohn 19370. It remains in store and not on ublic display, at an outside storeage facilty in Malmo (May 2019).

On April 30th, UP 4014 pulled out of the steam shed under her own power for the first time in 60 years. Change status to OPERATIONAL!!!

Only the tender has been dieselized, the locomotive itself is still intact. The diesel motors have been replaced with stronger, more powerful engines, and it can now pull trains.

Beyer Peacock & Co. built 0-4-0ST No. 1827 visit to Poland for the Wolsztyn Gala is back on as the locomotive is on its way to take part this year from the 4th of May 2019.

The North Eastern Locomotive Preservation Group has repainted Q6 0-8-0 No. 63395 back to its North Eastern Railways black livery with its NER running 2238 on. No. 2238 is in its centenary year this year and 2019 also marks 100 years of its designer Sir Vicent Raven. No. 2238 will enter service in its new livery during the Behind the Scenes event at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway over the Bank Holiday weekend (4th to 6th of May 2019).
