Huta Zygmunt 0-4-0T No. 19 was delivered to Huta Zygmunt in Bytom Upon retirement it joined six other narrow gauge locomotives in the grounds of a former Friedrich Lead and Silver Mine, at the Open Air Museum of Steam Machines (Skansen Maszyn Parowych), Szczesc Boze 81, 42-600 Tarnowskie Góry, Silesia

Zaklady Cynkowe Silesia 25 which was purchased by the Huta Cynku Silesia, Swietochlowice and at the end of its working life went to the Open Air Museum of Steam Machines in Tarnowskie Góry. However, after several years on display, in 2009 it was transported to Rudy Raciborskie where it received the boiler from Las 3343/1954, ex Huta Zygmunt No. 7, and then to Huta Pokój in Ruda Slaska, where it underwent external renovation. It returned, in early 2011, to the grounds of a former Friedrich Lead and Silver Mine, at the Open Air Museum of Steam Machines (Skansen Maszyn Parowych), Szczesc Boze 81, 42-600 Tarnowskie Góry, Silesia

Ty45-217 was delivered to Tarnowskie Góry from the factory and worked until being withdrawn in 1984 though it had a "farewell ride", mid-May 987. The following week it was plinthed outside the PKP Cargo depot, Fabryczna, 42-600 Tarnowskie Góry, Silesia

Tyb-1221 originally produced for the Opalenitzer Kleinbahn as their No. 6 Kaiserhof, later No. 6 Duszniki. In 1949 it joined the PKP fleet, again at Opalenica, as PKP-B: Txb2-1221 and in 1951 moved to Elk where, in 1961, it was renumbered Tyb4-1221. It went on to Biala Podlaska in 1968 and Mlawa from 1971 but in 1972 was conveyed and put on display (alongside six other narrow-gauge locomotives) in the grounds of a former Friedrich Lead and Silver Mine, at the Open Air Museum of Steam Machines (Skansen Maszyn Parowych), Szczesc Boze 81, 42-600 Tarnowskie Góry, Silesia

T49-116 was first delivered to the Heeres Feldbahn as number 24033. After WWII it joined the PKP at Jedrzejów as No. T2-64. in early 1950 it first went to the PPRK as 22847 (its boiler number) and later back to the factory in Chrzanów where it had major repairs, including a new chassis, afterwards back to the PKP at Zwierzyniec as No. T1-30. It was given its current identity in 1963 at Znin and in Spring 1973 went on display in the grounds of the grounds of the former Friedrich Lead and Silver Mine, at the Open Air Museum of Steam Machines (Skansen Maszyn Parowych), Szczesc Boze 81, 42-600 Tarnowskie Góry, Silesia

The ex GWR Manor Class 4-6-0 No. 7827 "Lydham Manor" has been withdrawn from service for its 10 year overhaul which will get underway when the overhaul on 42XX Class 2-8-0T No. 4277 is completed.

Ol49-79 was delivered to Poznan Glówny Osobowa from the factory and spent a decade here before moving to Gniezno for a short period before going to Lódz Kaliska in the Autumn of 1966, then Sierpc three years later and from where it was withdrawn in 1992. Ol49-72 went to Katowice at the beginning of 1958 though it probably worked elsewhere after being delivered from the factory. It was only based in Przeworsk after 1960, from where it was also withdrawn in 1987 and moved, in 1992, for display to the grounds of PKP Cargo Lokomotywownia, outside the administrative offices, 33-100 Tarnów, Lesser Poland.

TKh12-6322 (97.254) was built for the kkStB Borki Wielkie-Grzymalów local railway and then became No. 97.254 as an 0-6-0PT. It was sold to industry in 1930 and at K. Swierczewski, Zawadzkie in 1945. It is now at the Open Air Museum of Steam Machines (Skansen Maszyn Parowych), Szczesc Boze 81, 42-600 Tarnowskie Góry, Silesia

Ty2-921 (52.2301) Spent a short time with the DRB and in 1946 joined the PKP at Gliwice and worked in Southern Poland until being withdrawn in 1993 from Chojnice. It was, in May 2004 it was transported from here to Leba then, three months later to Lebork, then Gdynia Grabówek. In September 2006 it went to CEPR w Szymbarku, and is now plinthed at the exhibition at the Center for Education and Promotion of the Region, ul. Szymbarskich hostages 12, 83-315 Szymbark, Pomerania

The locomotive was first delivered in 750mm gauge as No. Px48-1779 to Jedrzejów and spent time on several railwaysuntil going to ZNTK Nowy Sacz in 1971 for conversion to metre gauge. Thereafter it went to Gryfice and several orther now-closed lines until reaching Koszalin in 1975, 1982 and finally 1986 before it was put on display outside Szczecinek PKP Cargo depot, Pilska 1, 78-400 Szczecinek, West Pomerania

This, I believe, is actually Borsig, Berlin No. 8464 of 1912 which was originally was delivered to Hochofenwerk (Blast Furnace) Lübeck AG, Germany. By 1945 it was at Huta Szczecin and became their No 4, working at the Goclaw based district steelworks until 1981. It was renovated and put back in service, still working in 1986. In 2001 it was taken to Wolsztyn is now on display inside their Dworec, Dworcowa 6, 64-200 Wolsztyn, Greater Poland

This is actually Fabryka, Chrzanów 3877 of 1958 and Huta Szczecin No. 6. Goclaw may be the original name of the steelworks (and district), which is on the northern outskirts of Szczecin on the west bank of the West Oder inlet. It is plinthed in the grounds of this steelworks, Huta Szczecin. Nad Odra 33, 71-833 Szczecin, West Pomerania

This locomotive was delivered to PKP Nasielsk and moved around Southern Poland until reaching Kepno in January 1981, and where stayed until being withdrawn in the Summer of 1992 but it was another three years before being taken to Szczecin Glówny where it is now displayed between the side of the old depot and station at Szczecin Glówny, Krzysztofa Kolumba, 71-899 Szczecin, West Pomerania

No. 15 went to work for Huta Falva (later Huta Florian from 1945) in Swietochlowice. It was retired in 1979 and put on display in the steelworks until being taken to Chorzów in 2015. It is now on display at the Historic Narrow Gauge Railway Station, ul. Szkolna 1, 47-430 Rudy Raciborskie, Silesia

This loco was first ordered by railway intermediary Becker & Co., Berlin and delivered to the Zajonskowo - Neumark Railway, then for the Torun Mokre - Czarnowo Railway before becoming PKP-A: TKh1-3673 in 1919. From 1941 it became DRB No. 89 7555 and, from 1945 - 1951, PKP-B No. TKh1-20. Its latter years were spent with Cukrowni (sugar plant) Pelplin and it was finally retired in 1977 and, after renovation it was put on display outside Sucha Beskidzka depot before moving to the far west, in 2014, near the German border and plinthed in ul. Skladowej, 66-016 Czerwiensk, Lubusz

I understand, it is recorded as formerly being Heeresfeldbahn 2655 (rather than 2665) which, in 1922, was at Mlawa, became PKP-A: E1-451. Seconded by the DRB during WWII, it became No. 99 1611 and afterwards PKP-B: Tw1-591. In 1956 it went to the Lesmierz Sugar Plant as their No. 11 and after the end of its operating life worked as a Stationary boiler in the stud farm at Walewice, then in the former steam locomotive shed in Mlynów. In 1987 it was taken to Sucha Beskidzka and renovated, then plinthed here from 1989. In the summer of 2000 it was removed and plinthed in front of the admin. building of the Rolling Stock Open-Air Museum, Skansen taboru kolejowego 34-720 Chabówka, Lesser Poland

This loco was not delivered to the Heeresfeldbahn (HF), Berlin until after WWI and then it was sold on to Klemens Sugar Factory (Cukrownia Klemensów) as their No. 9. After it retired in 1974 it was taken to a warehouse near the Warsaw Railway Museum and then, in the 1980s placed on display outside PKP Sucha Beskidzka depot (where photographed). In 2014 it was taken north-west to Bialosliwia for display at the Wyrzyska County Railway, Polna 5, 89-340 Bialosliwie, Greater Poland

Ol49-29 was delivered to Kutno and may have stayed around here until it moved to Elk where it was both in 1966 and 1990, and from where it was withdrawn in 1993. Since late 1997 it has been both displayed and plinthed outside the PKP station, ul. Kolejowa, 19-330 Stare Juchy, Warmia-Masuria

This loco was originally delivered to Huta Ostrowiec, Swietokrzyski (now part of the CELSA forge group} where it worked all its life until being displayed in the Jan Pazdur Museum of Nature and Technology Great Furnace, ul. Blast Furnace 1, 27-200 Starachowice, Swietokrzyskie

Ty2-16 was delivered to the DRB as No. 52 005 at Bw Hoyerswerda, Germany and eighteen months later drifted to nearby Halle. In 1945 it joined the PKP in the division of Katowice at Kluczbork depot and from here it wandered around Eastern Poland until reaching Rozwadów in 1975, and where it was eventually withdrawn in 1991 and put on display behind Stalowa Wola Station. In 2006 it was moved and plinthed outside the larger PKP Cargo depot of Stalowa Wola-Rozwadów but, in 2016, moved yet again back to a plinth in a new place near the Rozwadów Station platforms at Jaroslawa Dabrowskiego 15, 37-450 Stalowa Wola, Subcarpathia

Px48-1902 was first delivered to the extensive system at Trzebnica Gaj during the beginning of 1955. It moved around the narrow gauge systems until reaching Sroda Wielkopolska in 1996 where the authors photograph was taken, then by 2000 for a second stint at Krosniewice, where it remains at the no longer operating depot at KKW, Poznanska, 99-340 Krosniewice, Lódz

This is, I believe, Fabryka, Chrzanów No, 821 of 1940 which bears no company markings. After extensive research!, I believe it to be a locomotive originally built for construction company, Heinrich Gietmann of Rheinberg in Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. By 1945 it was in Warsaw and, in 1981 it was placed on display in a childrens playground in the village of Spala, some 9 km east of Tomaszów Mazowiecki, Lódz, Central Poland. In 2005, however, it was moved to Rogów Wask. and is currently being rebuilt at the KWRRB, ul. Dworcowa 37, 95-063 Rogów, Lódz

Ty51-133 was delivered to PMPPW Szczakowa, then Kotlarnia. It did not belong to the PKP until the Autumn of 1993 and shortly afterwards, in 1995, it was rebuilt in the Sucha Beskidzka depot and placed in the open-air museum in Chabówka. It is now displayed in the grounds of the Technical and Secondary School Complex, ul. Jana Kilinskiego 31, 41-209 Sosnowiec, Silesia,

Px49-1796was built in 1950 though its first recorded PKP entry is at Nasielsk in 1955! It was first at Sochaczew in 1975 after a visit to Mlawa in 1972, followed by Cukrownia Dobre in 1978. It was put on display at Sochaczew in 1989 and moved to Piotrków Trybunalski in 2000. It is now at the Narrow Gauge Museum, ul. Towarowa 7, 96-500 Sochaczew, Masovia

Tx28-1274 (99.2555)was first delivered to Krosniewice and became PKP-A No. D7-852. In continued into DRB service in 1939 as No. 99 2555 at both Lupków-Cisna and Krosniewice railways. It was at the latter when it was returned to the PKP in 1946. It visited Sochaczew in both the summers of 1962 and 1963, with a winter visit to Elk between the two and, where it was again in 1967 and 1972, when latterly used a Stationary Boiler. In 1974 it was withdrawn from service and placed on display at the Warsaw Railway Museum, from where in 1986, it was moved to the Narrow Gauge Museum, ul. Towarowa 7, 96-500 Sochaczew, Masovia

Txb5-1431 was first delivered to Opalenitzer Kleinbahn as their No. 10, and was still at Opalenica when operated after WWII by the PKP. It moved to Sroda in early 1952, followed by a number of other railways. It was re-numbered to its current identity in Smigiel during 1961. It then worked for another decade at Wielun. In 1975 it was given to the Railway Museum in Warsaw who placed it at its associate, the Narrow Gauge Museum, ul. Towarowa 7, 96-500 Sochaczew, Masovia
