The ex GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 5199, has now left the Battlefield Line and has now relocated to the Flour Mill works at Bream in Gloucestershire where its overhaul will take place at.

Having hauled its last trains over the weekend at the Battlefield Line, the ex GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 5199, has now been withdrawn from service having come to the end of its boiler ticket, and is now awaiting its next 10 year overhaul.

The ex GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 5199, has been given an extention to its boiler ticket for it to continue operating at the Battlefield Line for another six-months.

The ex GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 5199, has relocated to the Battlefield Line at Shackerstone in Leicestershire, to be their main steam locomotive for the remainder of its current boiler ticket.

Following its festive and winter visit to the Battlefield Line Railway, ex GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 5199 will then visit Didcot Railway Centre, during February 2024, where the locomotive will operate along side Didcot based 4100 Class Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 4144 and 6100 Class Large Prairie 2-6-2T 6106 (the latter on static display) during a series of special steam events from the 10th to 18th of February 2024.

The ex GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 5199 will be visiting the Battlefield Line Railway over the winter to be the main steam locomotive for their Santa Specials over the Christmas season.

The owners of ex GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 5199 have agreed to extend the loan of the locomotive to the West Somerset Railway for the 2022 season. Which 5199 will remain at the railway until the 31st of December 2022. No. 5199 will operate for a minimum number of 50 steaming days in this period there.

The GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 5199 is being repainted back into Great Western Green livery with Great Western written on the side tanks for the first time in preservation. No. 5199 is due to be finished ready for service in July in time for the peak running season at the West Somerset Railway where it is on hire to until the 31st December 2021.

Large Prairie Tank No. 5199 is also visiting the Dean Forest Railway for the first time for their Royal Forest of Steam Gala alongside No. 18 "Jessie" from the 7th to 9th of June 2019.

Large Prairie Tank No. 5199 will be joining its Llangollen stable mate No. 7822 "Foxcote Manor" at the Mid Hants Railway for their GWR themed Autumn Steam Gala from the 19th to 21st of October 2018.

GWR Large Prairie Tank No. 5199 has had to return to the Llangollen Railway for repairs to be carried out after it failed on a test run during its visit at the East Lancashire Railway.
