This is a Las type tank locomotive of 785mm gauge, originally built for Ruda (Silesia) Coal Mine (KWK Poland) as their No. 3 and, in 2003, was displayed outside the Coal Mining Museum, ul. 3-go Maja 19, 41-800 Zabrze, Silesia

This locomotive was built for, and spent a short period with the DRB as No. 52 5680 before being passed to Soviet Railways in 1945 as No. TE-5880. It returned to Poland in 1963, not for the PKP but for the PMPPW and worked until 1994. In 1998, it was displayed in the museum at Jaworzno-Szczakowa. In May 2011 it went to PKP Rybnik for external renovation and a couple of months later was plinthed (and where photographed) in front of the DB Schenker Rail Polska S.A. offices, ul. Freedom 337, 41-800 Zabrze, Slaskie

This locomotive is actually Kopalnia Wegla Kamiennego, Bielszowice 1, which, seemingly became KWK Bielszowice No. 10362 (Its boiler number). It worked at the same location until 1983. In 1985 it was displayed on the premises of the Basic Mining School, Zabrze but in 2009 it went to PTK ZNiUT in Pyskowice Dzierzno, where it was renovated externally and later plinthed on the premises of PTK ZNiUT, ul. Piaskowa 143, 44-120 Pyskowice, Silesia

This locomotive was first delivered to Sompolno where it spent most of its days along with visits to Wloclawek and Gniezno, from where it was eventually withdrawn in 1987. In 2014 it was taken to Wrzesnia for renovation and was displayed here a year later, on the south side of ul. Kaliska, 62-300 Wrzesnia, Greater Poland

This locomotive arrived from the manufacturer at Sochaczew and three years later moved to Kepno where it stayed for the remainder of its working life until withdrawal in 1992. It was taken to Bydgoszcz Wschód in 1996 and then, in 2017, to Wroclaw Glówny depot where it is being completely renovated off Hubska, 50-5014 Wroclaw, Lower Silesia

Ty2-22 (52.025) was delivered to the DRB as No. 52 025 and joined the PKP at the end of 1945 in Rybnik and, during the next two decade found its way north to Pila before turning up at Wolsztyn in 1965 and subsequent years. From here it went to nearby Wroclaw Gadów where it, on and off, survived working until the beginning of 1993. At the end of 1997 it was placed inside the closed but central Wroclaw Swiebodzki railway station (where photographed) but was moved again for renovation in 2018 by Pol-Miedz Trans, possibly at their corporate location, i.e. KGHM Polska Miedz SA O/ZG Polkowice-Sieroszowice, accessed south of Glogow, near the village of Nowe Osiedle, off road B333, 67-222 Potoczek, Lower Silesia

No. Pt47-20 is falsely preserved as No. Pt47-94 and was originally supplied to Poznan Glówny Osobowa depot before being moved to Klodzko in 1975. It was withdrawn from here 1988 and had moved to Wroclaw Glówny by 1993. It is plinthed outside the depot at the side of the approach road, off Hubska, 50-5014 Wroclaw, Lower Silesia

The locomotive was delivered to Breslauer Gaswerke, Werk Tarnogai (Wroclaw Tarnogaj gazownia) and after renovation in Jaworzyna Slaska during 2015 was returned a year later and plinthed at PGNiG (the former municipal gasworks), ul. Gazowa 3, 50-513 Wroclaw, Lower Silesia

The locomotive was manufactured for Stettiner Chamottefabrik AG, Szczecin and at some time in its history became Gazownia (Gasworks) Wroclaw 3. It is now plinthed (on high) at the Muzeum Gazownictwa, ul. Pocztowa 6, 48-370 Paczków, Opole

Tx-1113 (HF 1973) was produced at the end of WWI for the Depot Management of the 1st Eb Brigade, Berlin-Schöneberg, intended for the Rehagen-Klausdorf line. After WWII in 1945 it was at ZKL Hajnówka, and in 2001 it was plinthed outside the Wigierska Kolejka Waskotorowa (Wigry Narrow Gauge Railway) station, Plociczno-Tartak 40, 16-413 Plociczno-Tartak, Podlaskie

Ol49-3 was delivered to Kutno at the end of the year and spent a decade here before moving to Lódz Kaliska and, eventually, to Elk in 1991. It was taken back to Bialystok in 2009 and, two years later moved, pending repairs, at PKP Torun depot, Kluczyki, 87-100 Torun, Kuravia-Pomerania

TKh1-19 (89.7491) is Orenstein & Koppel AG, Berlin-Drewitz No. 1444 of 1905 and is currently (falsely) numbered as TKh1-19. It was delivered to the KPEV as re-used Bromberg No. 1812 then, from 1908, as Bromberg 6158 and from 1920 as Osten 6158, only becoming DRB No. 89 7491 in 1925. After WWII it went, in 1945, to the CSD as No. 312.8500 and it was not until 1947 that it arrived in Poland at Cukrownia Janikowo in 1947 and, in 1972 at Cukrownia Melno. In 1988 it was taken to PKP Torun Kluczyki for renovation where it is now displayed (though not necessarily owned) in the grounds of PKP Torun depot, Kluczyki, 87-100 Torun, Kuravia-Pomerania

TKh49-5564 was produced for IZS (Inowroclawskie Zaklady Sodaowe), Matwy and worked here for over a decade. By 1977 it was at Cukrowni Melno, In 1988 it was given to PKP Lokomotywownia Torun Kluczyki and renovated before, in 1993, being plinthed outside the north entrance to Central Station. ul. Kujawska 1, 87-100 Torun, Kuravia-Pomerania

Ty2-64 is Wien-Floridsdorf 9651 of 1942 which first became DRB No. 52 279 and has a frame previously carried by DRB No. 52 5638 (Schichau, Elbing No. 3916 of 1943) and exchanged prior to working for the SZD and before joining the PKP fleet at Kraków in 1945. It seems to have spent all of its years in the South and East of Poland after WWII, returning to Torun Kluczyki in 1982 and from where it was withdrawn in 1991. It stayed here until 2016 when it was moved to Dzierzoniów, on the rail route between Walbrzych and Klodzko and whilst the former depot is not yet open to the public, regular rail services operate between Jaworzyna Slaska and the depot in what is now the Museum of Industry and Railways in Silesia, Henryka Sienkiewicza 19, 58-200 Dzierzoniów, Lower Silesia

It was first delivered to Annopol Phosphorus Mine and, in 1963, was sold to the Lipa-Bilgoraj Forest Railway as Osrodek Transportu Lesnego No. Ty-3811 (Forest Transport Centre) where it worked until 1975. In 1984 it went to the Forestry Museum in Goluchów but was moved several years later to Zwierzyniec, near Bialowieza. In 2004 it was moved again. on this occasion to the far end of the Hajnówka line, at Topilo with a short wagon and tender probably making it a 0-6-0T+4, south east of Bialystok in Podlaskie. This was delivered from the factory to Huta Jednosc, Siemianowice, Silesia on the unusual gauge of 630mm and worked here until being withdrawn in 1990. A year later it was taken to the Narrow Gauge Railway Museum in Sochaczew and, in 1993, was plinthed at the Railway Museum in Warsaw. In 2005 it was again plinthed, on this occasion in front of the railway station as No. Tluszcz 1 at PKP Dworzec, Warszawska 4, 05-240 Tluszcz, Masovia

Oi2-29 (24.092) was ordered by the DRB near the beginning of WWII and was incorporated into the PKP in 1945 and no particular known allocations were registered until 1965 when it was first at Zajaczkowo Tczewskie, then Inowroclaw. In 1970 it moved to Gdynia Grabówek, then again at Zajaczkowo Tczewski. It was withdrawn from service in 1976 with stays at Nowe Skalmierzyce and Ostrów Wlkp. It was reconstructed as a monument and plinthed outside Tczew depot in 1986 where it stayed until 2015 when it was taken to Koscierzyna where it is now displayed at the Skansen Parowozownia,, ul. Towarowa 7, 81-400, Koscierzyna, Pomerania

TKt48-170 was delivered to Szczecinek in the Autumn of 1956 and had travelled the full length of the country between Bialogard and Czechowice Dziedzice by 1965 then, in 1982 Korsze from where it was withdrawn in 1989. It was taken to Chojnice for renovation in 1993 and a year later placed on display outside the depot. In 2008 it went to Zajaczkowo Tczewskie, a village in Tczew County and finally, towards the end of 2012, in front of the PKP Dworzec, Pomorska 18, 83-110 Tczew, Pomerania

Tkh49-11 was delivered straight to the Warta Cement Plant, Dzialoszyn in Lódz Voivodeship. Four years later, in 1965, it was at Chodakowskie Zaklady Fibers, Masovia and was still there a decade later. By April 1999 it was in a derelict state outside the PKP depot in Tczew awaiting restoration. In 2002 it was plinthed, falsely as PKP No. TKh49-11,in the PKP Dworzec, Pomorska 18, 83-110 Tczew, Pomerania

Having had a bit of a odd season on the Jacobite this year LMS Black Five No. 45212 has returned home to the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway for the winter and will be out again on the mainline and hauling the Jacobite in 2021.

lektrocieplownia Wroclaw 0-4-0F No. TKbb was delivered to the Elektrizitätswerk Schlesien, Breslau (Silesian Power Station, Wroclaw) and spent all its inter-war years here and which became the Nadodrz Power Plant, Wroclaw in 1945. In April 1973 it was moved, and is only one of two standard gauge locomotives, in the grounds of a former Friedrich Lead and Silver Mine, at the Open Air Museum of Steam Machines (Skansen Maszyn Parowych), Szczesc Boze 81, 42-600 Tarnowskie Góry

Tp1-18 (55.274) was delivered to the KPEV as Magdeburg 1343, which from 1906, became Magdeburg 4417. In 1925 it became DRB No. 55 274 and it was not until 1945 that it joined the PKP in its current identity. It was withdrawn from service at Trzebiniaó in 1966, then made its way via Przemysl to Tarnowskie Góry to be plinthed slightly north of the Dworec (station) in 1971, in front of the then Railway Technical School, ul. Pokoju 14, 42-600 Tarnowskie Góry, Silesia
