Chesapeake & Ohio RR 4-4-0 No. 231Posted by: Kevin K Sharpe on Jul 10, 2021 @ 21:07:09
Searching through various sources, the farthest back that has been uncovered is that this engine worked on the Chicago, Cincinnati & Louisville and was numbered 54 when the line got bought by the C&O. He was classified as an A-5, but the line is up to speculation, since the C&O never owned any 4-4-0s on its own. They usually got them from branch lines, so it is possible that the engine sported a similar backstory to C&O 377 at the B&O Museum by possibly working for the Cincinnati, Richmond & Muncie Railroad.
