Just wondering if you have any information about Locomotive #10. My mother told me that was my grandfather Tim Messier’s when he worked for the LS&I. He retired after 50 plus years at the end of 1948.

LS&I 18 is currently out of service being stored in the SLRG steam shop. SLRG has not had a steam program since September 2013. Status should become "stored servicable".

Engines #18 and #20 were sold to the San Luis & Rio Grande Railway / Rio Grande Scenic Railroad in Alamosa, CO in early November. The two WERE at Mount Hood, but they ceased steam operations on August 31, and the two were again put back up for sale. When the steam engines will be moved to Alamosa is unknown.

The "Alco-Pittsburgh Construction Number List" indicates that Construction Numbers 46939 through 46943, Road Numbers 9 through 13, were shipped to "Lake Superior & Ishpeming" during February of 1910. All of the units were 2-8-0's with a "Specified" total weight of 174,000 pounds (This is not necessarily the "Actual" total weight).

I used to watch "Shining Time Station" when I was a kid. #18 was featured with a 4-5 car train in the episode "Tis A Gift".

She didn't have the electrical connection to her bell, and she had a Banner over the "Grand Canyon" lettering.

when I visited the RR's Williams Depot it was being displayed but it looked in immaculate condition, so it's probably still operable.
