NS 4-8-4T No. 6317Posted by: Dale W Fickés on Dec 21, 2021 @ 05:12:48
Apparently, in preservation it did, or does, carry the ‘false’ later works-plate No. 10059.

Oregon, Pacific & Eastern RR Shay - 2 Truck No. 112Posted by: Lewis on Dec 21, 2021 @ 05:12:15
Locomotive purchased by Gulf & Ohio Railways in 2020 and relocated to Knoxville, TN for operational restoration.

NS 0-4-0T No. 657 (170)Posted by: Dale W Fickés on Dec 21, 2021 @ 05:12:29
The locomotive was actually built for the State Railway (SS) as their No. 657 and predecessor to the original NS who, in 1920 renumbered it 170, and from 1941, the later NS, to whom it may now belong, to 8170.

NS (WD) 2-10-0 No. 5085 (73755) 'Longmoor'Posted by: Dale W Fickés on Dec 21, 2021 @ 05:12:12
This locomotive should more accurately be recorded as NS No. 5085 after it’s WD number of 73755, subsequently named ‘LONGMOOR’, and as displayed, after itarrived in the country, following initial work in neighbouring Belgium, based at Tournai following WW2.

NS (SS) 4-6-0.4Cyl No. 3737 (731)Posted by: Dale W Fickés on Dec 21, 2021 @ 05:12:41
Built as No. 731 for the State Railways (SS) of the Nederlands, this was the last steam locomotive to work a scheduled train in the country for the NS, to whom it was inherited in 1941 and probably renumbered. Apparently it bears, or did, the incorrect works plate No. 282 in preservation.

OSE (SBDE) 0-6-0T No. 7003(A 3)Posted by: Brian Garvin on Dec 20, 2021 @ 14:12:39
This was reported as being in Messolongion in August 2003.

NRS 4-4-0 No. 107Posted by: Dale W Fickés on Dec 20, 2021 @ 07:12:55
This locomotive was one of the last built for the Nederlands Rhendish Railway (NRS) some, including this class member, passing to the HSM and later the original NS, possibly/probably as their No. 1607.

NS (SS) 2-4-0 No. 1326 (326)Posted by: Dale W Fickés on Dec 20, 2021 @ 07:12:31
The number (1326) refers to the designation by the two companies forming the 1920-1937 NS predecessor of the current State railway, known as NS, for which the locomotive probably never ran.

NS (HSM) 2-4-0 No. 1010 (89) 'Nestor'Posted by: Dale W Fickés on Dec 20, 2021 @ 07:12:49
This was one of 29 locomotives built for the HSM (Holland Railway Company) as their No. 89 ‘Nestor’ though the names of all locomotives were removed in 1921 when the company merged with others to form the State Railways (SS). This was State controlled but as the NS did not come into existence until 1938, it is doubtful if the locomotive ever ran for the latter. INo. 1010 is NOT relevant to the locomotive other than it standing besides an electric locomotive in Utrecht bearing that number, though the website of the museum refers to, I think, to the fictional number 1000 for the same! Please also note the correct name of this locomotive.

SS 2-4-0 No. 13Posted by: Dale W Fickés on Dec 20, 2021 @ 06:12:40
This locomotive, when built and delivered in 1865 to the State Railways (SS) would ‘probably’ (even I can’t remember that far back!) have been 2000mm gauge as Dutch lines were only converted to 1435mm (Standard) in 1866.

HSM (HIJSM) 2-2-2 No. 'De Arend'Posted by: Dale W Fickés on Dec 20, 2021 @ 05:12:58
The original example, No. 2 ‘De Arend’ (The Eagle) was built during 1839 and scrapped in1857, hence this replica.

British Sugar Corporation 0-6-0T No. 'Thomas'Posted by: Russell Newman on Dec 16, 2021 @ 12:12:24
The former British Sugar Corporation Hudswell Clarke built 0-6-0T Works No. 1800 "Thomas" has had to be taken out of service having been failed due to a leaking tube. So the Nene Valley Railway has taken the desion to retube the boiler and have extra work carried out to give "Thomas" a fresh new 10 year boiler ticket which should see the locomotive continue running until 2032.

Vascongados 2-6-0T No. 104 'Aurrera'Posted by: Dale W Fickés on Dec 16, 2021 @ 09:12:12
The late Pat Ransome-Wallis records the build details of this locomotive as NW 456/1894 and it could be that the one preserved is this bearing later plates (I.e. fitted when restored). It was built for the Vasgongados Railway as their No. 104 AURRERA.
