New York, Chicago & St. Louis RR 4-6-0 No. 44Posted by: Matthew Gardner on Sep 23, 2024 @ 14:09:39
Was at RailFest this year, and saw a friend whom is employed by the park. He claims to have Ultrasounded all engines where their boilers and fireboxes are exposed, and in his mind, all engines which he has tested thus far can be made to run, other than the Nickel Plate 44. It has damage to the boiler barrel on the top right where it connects to the smokebox. This, however, was due to an incident during its service days, and not from sitting in the elements all these years.

MR (US Army) 2-8-2 No. 1032(847)Posted by: Steve Frost, European Editor on Sep 21, 2024 @ 14:09:55
It looks more like a Pacific to me - leading coupled wheels missing and insufficient room for a fourth driving axle. But it certainly has a four wheel leading truck, so it is not a 2-8-2. No matter, I will remove the photo.
