The ex LSWR M7 0-4-4T No. 30053, has arrived at the North Norfolk Railway for its boiler to be re-fitted once it has been steam tested. After the boiler is re-fitted to the locomotive, No. 30053 will return home to the Swanage Railway for the fitment of brand new side tanks and its cab along with painting before more testing and entering service in 2025.

The overhaul on ex LSWR M7 0-4-4T No. 30053, has now reached the final stage as the locomotive is to be moved to the North Norfolk Railway to their Weybourne Workshop for it to be re-united with its boiler to be fitted.

The overhaul on ex LSWR M7 0-4-4T No. 30053 is now in its final stages at Herston next to the Swanage Railway, as the the locomotive has had a brand new coal bunker made and fitted along with other work carried out. No. 30053 is expected to return to service at the Swanage Railway from the summer of 2023.

The mainframes of the ex LSWR M7 0-4-4T No. 30053 has been moved into the workshops at Herston for work to be carried out on them during its overhaul while the boiler is being worked on at the North Norfolk Railway’s engineering workshops at Weybourne.

LSWR M7 Tank No. 30053 s boiler ticket has ran out and the locomotive is now withdrawn from service for its 10 year overhaul.

30053 will be remaining traffic a bit longer as its been giving an extension to its boiler ticket and will now be in service till November.

The M7 Tank No. 30053 will be hauling its last trains at the Swanage Railway over Christmas as its due to be withdrawn from service for its 10 year overhaul at the end of this month.
