There have been 2 separate attempts to get this locomotive out of its present location, and to its native area. The owner established a price, groups went in and raised the money, and went in with plans, only for the owner to raise the price at the last second.

This engine has been moved to the shops of Kentucky Steam Heritage Corporation for restoration. However, there is a possibility that its ownership may have changed to the Big South Fork Scenic Railroad, and it is being restored for them.

It turns out that the ex United States Army Transportation Corps S160 2-8-0 No. 5197, has not been withdrawn from service for overhaul yet as its still has a boiler ticket and still operational for another three years still and is due to be hauling trains at the Churnet Valley Railway for the 2025 running season.

The 1975 built working replica of "Locomotion No. 1", has been moved to the Great Central Railway (Nottingham) at Ruddington in Nottinghamshire for testing and running-in trials in readiness for its part in the Railway 200 celebrations this year.

The former Burry Port & Gwendraeth Valley Railway 1900 Avonside built 0-6-0ST No. 2 "Pontyberem", is in fact owned by the newly formed Gwendraeth Valley Railway, a new heritage railway set up at Kidwelly in South Wales to restore and operate trains on the mothballed nine-mile former Burry Port & Gwendraeth Valley Railway. Which work is underway on a new station site at Kidwelly and restoration of the line to make fit for trains to run again along the line which was last used in 1996. The restoration of "Pontyberem" continues on at the Flour Mill Works at Bream still.

The overhaul on ex GWR 4200 Class 2-8-0T No. 4247, has reached a milestone as the boiler was successfully passed its hydraulic test and is now ready for steam testing and the locomotive is in the final stages of its overhaul which should be completed soon.

I recently found this engine, it is actually south of Kinsley Kansas buried in about 1 foot of soil. you can see what appears to be the fire box. it is buried on the north end of the Wichita northwestern wooden bridge on the west side
