The locomotive was delivered and served with DRB for the relatively short period as No. 52 6011 until November 1945 when it was stored by the SBZ Military Administration until 1949 when it then joined the emerging DR, firstly in the same identity until being re-boilered around 1958-62, re-appearing from the workshops as No. 52 8064, from 1970 as 52 8064-9. It wasvpurchased privately in 1992 and, in 1995, by the 41 096 Society and kept at Saltgitter Klein Mahner. In 2007 it moved to the EF Krefeld but, in 2020 was placed outside the former Bw 21244 Buchholz in der Nordheide as Brian describes, horizontally facing the two road junctions.

The locomotive only served with the DRB from delivery in 1943-1945, as No. 52 6004, thence for the Soviet railways with SZD 1945-, until being stored in Krasnovka by 1993.

This is indeed formerly No. 52 5996 that was delivered to the DRB in 1943 and withoom it lasted for a couple of years before being taken into SBZ Military Administration 1945-1949 before service with the emerging DR in the same identity. Around 1962, as one of the last Rekoloks it was re-boilered and re-numbered as 81 8163 (PLEASE NOTE SEQUENCE OF DIGITS) until being withdrawn in late 1993, after which it kwas sold by the suceeding DB, privately, to the CFTPV in France.

The former Bowaters Paper Mills Kerr Stuart & Co. built Brazil Class 0-4-2ST Works No. 886 "Premier" is now operational again following the completion of a overhaul and rebuild and it entered traffic at the Sittingbourne & Kemsley Light Railway during their Three Brazils Weekend over the 28th and 29th of May 2022.

Without trying to be pedantic, whilst this may have been built to a LMS design this is, of course a British Railways built locomotive!

The date is correct but the builder would have been U23A; build number could possibly be 522 ?

This is NOT a O-8-0T but one of a small group (of 10) built as powerful 0-8-0 tender (6 wheeled) locomotives built by U23A of Bucharesti in 1949 (prevously Malaxa 1921-1945; susequently Faur from 1990, since 2004 part of the Beta Grup)

I have this locomotive as Malaxa, Bucharesti 518/1949 rather than a Resita product ?

In March of 2022 the locomotive was removed from its plinth at Rockport Marine Park and transported to Rockport Steel where it will undergo a cosmetic restoration, including the fabrication of a new cab, before being returned to its display location.

Loco sold to Slovakia, at Vrutky loco depot, dismantled in September 2014, parts used for CFR 40-006 (4296) which is at Tisovec. Slovakia.

The overhaul on ex GWR Castle Class 4-6-0 No. 5043 "Earl of Mount Edgecumbe" is really progressing as the boiler has been placed back onto the frames of the locomotive and should return to the mainline in the Autumn of 2022.

After testing and being fully painted the overhaul on ex London, Brighton & South Coast Railway Terrier 0-6-0T No. 70 "Poplar" (No. 32670 "Bodiam") is now completed and the locomotive is operational again and will enter service at the Kent & East Sussex Railway during their Best of British weekend Jubilee Celebrations from the 2nd of to 5th of June 2022.

Delivered to the DRB as No. 52 5992 with whom it served less than two years before being placed in store in the care of the SBZ Military Administration during November 1945, then placed in traffic again during 1949, this time with the emerging DR in the same identity. It was later re-built around 1958-62, becoming No, 52 8111, later from 1970 as No. 52 8111-8. It was withdrawn from traffic in 1987 and was saved for preservaton at Tuttlingen three years later.
