British Steel, Scunthorpe 0-6-0T No. 8 'Dorothy'/'Thomas' Posted by: Russell Newman on Jan 4, 2023 @ 14:01:33
It was first thought that ex British Steel, Scunthorpe rebuilt Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0T No. 8 (Works No. 1450) "Dorothy" was still at the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway, it turns out the locomotive is indeed at the Ribble Steam Railway and its overhaul is progressing well. The former 0-6-0ST which had been previously used as Thomas the Tank Engine for Days out with Thomas Events is to remain a 0-6-0T but with the side tanks modified to look less like Thomas. The chassis have been de-rusted and is currently being undercoated which is nearly complete while the boiler is awaiting inspection to ascertain whether anymore remedial work is required.
