The ex GWR 5205 Class 2-8-0T No. 5239 "Goliath" is now located back home at the Dartmouth Steam Railway at Paignton in Devon.

LNER D49 Class 4-4-0 No. 246 "Morayshire" has left the Llangollen Railway and has been relocated to a private site near the the Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway for storage until 2021 when its overhaul can be continued.

Here is a bit of information history on No. 1626 "Toby". The locomotive was one of many tram locomotives built by Cockerill of Belgium between 1883 to 1949 and is one of their Type IV Vertical Boiler shunters. No. 1626 spent most of its working life at Brussel Gasworks till its withdrawal from service in the early 1960’s. No. 1626 was bought privately for preservation in the UK in 1987 by the late Dr George Cree who started rebuild the locomotive as a replica of one the Great Eastern Railway Class G15 (LNER Y6) Tram Engines that worked on the legendry Wisbech and Upwell Tramway. Now under the ownership of a private individua since 2011 work is continuing but slowly at Wansford.

Please change "CSD (Austrian Army) No. U47.002" to "CSD No. U47.002" as this loco never was in use for Austrian army railway. Please change location from "Kuty, Slovakia" to "Prešov, Slovakia, railway station"

This loco is now and non operational at the Museum of Industry, Zamberk, Czech Republic Former location "Slovenian Railway Museum" was not correct, loco lurked around in the backyard of a Slovenian enthusiast.

Henry J Coles works number 796 moved from Beamish. Has been restored to working order at Old Hall Farm. Now in use at their workshops. The crane jib has been altered or more likely renewed. Old Hall Farm is a tourist attraction with farm various animals. Old farm machinery, but also contains workshops which does complete rebuilding of traction engines and steam locomotive boilers. Plus has driving lessons on an operating traction engine.

A 10 ton lift steam crane built at Taylor Hubbard, Kent Street, Leicester for British Railways Southern region engineering department. Seems to have spent its working life based in the London area. Later became spare crane at Ashford works until withdrawn in 1981, then sold 1982 to K&ESR.

One of two 36 ton lift steam crane built at Ransomes & Rapier, Waterside works, Ipswich, Order number C6553. Southern Railway numbered it 81S. It was renumbered to DS81 under British Railways. Spent all its working life on the Southern region. Withdrawn in 1986 and a year later sold to the K&ESR. Has been down rated to 30 ton lift. The other 36 ton steam crane on order C6553 was Southern Railway number 80S. Scrapped in 1985

This class of locomotive was also built by Borsig of Berlin. Several examples exist in Germany.

QJ 7049 was also one of the last steam locomotives in service on the Jitong Railway right to the end of steam there in 2005. Today 7049 is on static display with her surviving sister QJ 2-10-2’s at Daban depot as a reminder of the Jitong Railway’s steam heritage.

Built as a steam navvy (excavator) operating on 4 rails, later in life it was converted to a 7 ton self propelled crane. It worked as a crane using only its standard gauge wheels at NCB Lady Victoria colliery. Now found in the grounds of the old Prestongrange Colliery. There is a visitors centre but the colliery buildings are closed to the public. In 1830 a pit was dug here down to 420 feet.

On site as well as 2 steam cranes and various wagons is a complete Cornish beam engine, said to be the last standing in Scotland plus parts of the steam operated winding gear.

Whitaker Bros company was in Horsforth near Leeds. This company built rail mounted excavators & pile drivers. In 1911 the company was taken over by Ruston Proctor & Co.

The locomotive is Fowler 9460. It came from Fiji to Whitney Brothers in California in 1963. The two owned by Hulman in Indiana (9463 & 9465) have reportedly been scrapped.

QJ 7048 also survived the end of steam on the Jitong Railway in 2005 and is on static display with her last remaining sister QJ’s at Daban depot today.

QJ 7063 was also among the last steam locomotives in service on the Jitong Railway working between Daban and Chabuga right till the very end in December 2005. like her sisters 7063 was given a cosmetic overhaul in the late 2000’s to be placed on static display at Daban depot where the locomotive remains today.

QJ 7143 was once part of a fleet of a 120 ex China Rail 2-10-2’s that were best remembered hauling heavy freight and passenger trains over the legendry Jingpeng Pass on the Jitong Railway from 1995 till the very end of steam in December 2005. The locomotive today is on static display at Daban depot along with her surviving sisters.

QJ 6891 was the oldest of the QJ’s that remained in service till the very end of steam on the Jitong Railway in December 2005. The locomotive was speared the cutters torch and has survived today being on static display at Daban depot with her last remaining sister QJ’s as a reminder of what was once the last great steam show on the planet from 1995 to 2005.

QJ 7105 was one of the last of the QJ Class 2-10-2’s that was working till the very end of steam on the Daban to Chabuga section of the Jitong Railway in 2005. Like its remaining sisters 7105 was given a cosmetic overhaul in the late 2000’s and has been placed on static display at Daban depot.

QJ 7041 was also among the last working steam locomotives to work right to the end of steam on the Jitong Railway in December 2005 and survives today on static display at Daban depot.

QJ 7012 was among the last 23 remaining steam locomotives on the Jitong Railway to work right to the end of steam on the Daban to Chabuga section in December 2005. Happily 7012 has survived and after a cosmetic restoration in the late 2000’s the locomotive has been put on static display at Daban depot along 13 other QJ’s as a reminder the Jitong Railway’s steam heritage.

QJ 7002 was another one of the last reaming QJ’s that worked on the Daban to Chabuga section of the Jitong Railway in 2005 and it too was set a side for preservation in the United States of America but was sadly cut up for scrap at Jinzhou 701 works when it closed in 2010.
