41312 has been announced as the first visiting engine for the Great Central Railways Autumn Steam Gala on 29th September-2nd October. I believe this will be the first time an Ivatt 2MT 2-6-2T has visited the GCR.

To be pedantic (!) the correct build number is actually 03200/1988 and, apparently it is/was moved to Kladno.

This is the penultimate (from a group or around 200 fireless locomotives constructed by Raw Meiningen built 1983-1988) that survive, this one going to Usti nad Laben in the then Czechoslovakia as No. 998 201, presumably for the then CSD, working until 1998. This later became Setuza Chemicals As, in Usti, later as No. 998 200-0 where it was in 2002.

Following employment for Brown Coal Werk, at Regis-Breitingen in 1993 it was at Bergbau technical museum, Brikettfabrik Gertrud at Rosita-Zechau, stored by 1995. Displayed in front of Bf Haselbach, Thüringen, in 2006.

The correct construction number is actually 03189/1987, to be pedantic if one is using the ‘search’ tool!

Originally VEB Zellstoff und Papierfabrik Crossen, Werk Schönfeld, with no known identity, until 1999 when it was taken to the Preßnitztalbahn at Schönfeld the following year for display, where it still was in 2007.

This locomotive was originally based at Werk Rudolstadt, Germany, as their No. 2 which, at the end of 1992, went via Raw Meiningen for the ÖGEG, Austria and in 1994 on to Neusiedler Paper, Theresienthat as their No. 4, where it remained at U-H in 2002.

The ex LMS Jubilee Class 4-6-0 No. 45699 "Galatea" which has been running on the mainline as long lost Class mates No. 45562 "Alberta" and No. 45627 "Sierra" has been withdrawn from service for her 10 year overhaul which will get underway at her base at Carnforth.

The former Associated Portland Cement Manufacturers Andrew Barclay built 0-4-0ST Works No. 2015 "Tom Parry" had undergone a cosmetic restoration which has now been completed and the locomotive has been relocated to Northiam in Kent where it has been plinthed on display at the Railway Retreats site at Northiam in Kent which is next to the Kent & East Sussex Railway.

My previous notes relation to the correct Hohenzollern 4629/1928 should please be directed to No, 80 030. This locomotive is actually Hohenzollern 4647/1928, DRG No. 80 036 which was also withdrawn from Bw Scheinfurt but in 1959, and prior to going to Beekbergen, was No. D-725 at RH, Hamm.

The former Ingeno San Martin del Tabarcal, Argentina Orenstein & Koppel built 0-10-0T No. T 907 Works No. 10956 is now under the ownership of Matt Dolby and has now been relocated to Workshop X at Killamarsh in Derbyshire for restoration. The locomotive will be duel braked with both vaccum and air brakes when completed and will travel around to a number the preserved narrow gauge railways around the UK when completed.

The ex NCB, North Gawber Colliery Hudswell Clarke built 0-6-0T Works No. 1857 has undergone some test runs along part of the West Somerset Railway successfully and will be in light steam during their upcoming Spring Steam Gala from the 5th to 8th of May 2022.

Previously intermediary Gebrüder (Brothers) Stumm, for Neunkircher Eisenwerke as No. 54; displayed from around 1971 in a playground in Pfaffental, Neunkirchen-Furpach, later moved to a parking-place, adjacent to Saarbrücker Straße, Neunkirchen where it was in 2005. Plinthed in Gustav Regler Straße, Neunkirchen from 2008, where it was in 2013.

Previously K-N Bergwerke-Verein, Altenessen No. 5; later Hoesch AG, Westfalenhutte, Dortmund No. 5; later still Verbundbergwerk Emil-Fritz, Essen-Altenessen No. 6, then No. D-313, stored in 1971. In 1972 BAG, Zeche Wilhelmine Melissen, Duisburg-Rheinhausen. In 1973 displayed in playground, SOS Kinderdorf, Kleve-Materborn, then, in 1990, at the E-M, Herne-Wanne where it still was in 2013

Originally Havenbahn Dortmund No. 12; only No. 38 from 1961 with Saarbergwerke AG, Kraftwerk Fenne until 1978. It was preserved in 1980 by the BLME, Braunschweig as No. 106, named “HOLLENZOLLERN” and was still here in 2001.

Although I have no records of the original KPEV number, which it may have been allocated prior to 1924 (KPEV No. 6011 Rbd Halle belonged to what later became DRG No. 57 3088); this locomotive entered DRG service as No. 33 2327, later, probably when the Reichsbahn re-designated the DRG the DRB from 1937 it became No. 57 3297 (equally I have no record of it ever being No. 57 297). It ‘travelled’ through the SBZ Military Administration after WW2 in the same identity until 1949 when it joined the newly created DR, again as No. 57 3297, also when joining firstly the VM, Dresden, later at Chemnitz-Hilbersdorf.

Originally built for construction contractor Dirk Verstoep, Gonderak as his No. 3 which was stored in 1983. In 1988 it went to the NSS, Katwijk and in 1992 the Nederlandse Smalspoor Stichting at Valkenburg.

Tyler Fenderson, who informed us of the existence of this locomotive had this to say about it: "Guinther Coal Company 0-4-0st. It was dug up in a strip mining pit in 2007 near Gilberton, PA. the engine was given to owner of Bear Ridge Machine company as a display for out front. the same location houses various pieces of Anthracite railroad history including P&RC&I Steeple cab electric locomotive from Locust Summit Breaker, and multiple other lokies that were dug up from pits which I am currently gathering info from the PA L&I boiler records and NB record to determine history of and will gladly forward over. "

I understand, though of course I and my source could be mistaken!, that this is actually Hohenzollern 4295/1922, as it appears build number 4294 is not extant. This was built for Serbian Railways as No. 7079 which in due course became JŽ No. 26 079. In 2007 it was stored in the Nis MIN Industrial area.
