Compare the album photo with the primary photo to see the transformation that has been made.

This loco was seen as a 'no hoper' for many decades. It had suffered having the rear driving wheels cut when in the scrapyard and when it was bought, it was with a view to be used as spares for another of the same type. For many years it languished in the state shown in the album photo, but a change of ownership has brought the loco back to life.

It now runs on the main line hauling excursions and was photographed in light steam at Shildon in September 2013.
