Also brand new buffer beams have been built and assembled to the front and back of the new frames and a brand new cylinder block will be fitted to the locomotive soon. A brand new coal bunker will be built as well and the water tanks are being inspected to see if they can be used again or need replacing as well?? Its planned to turn out No. 27 in ROD Olive Green livery as it would have carried during the First World War when completed, which is a bit of a way yet. But funding is still going which details can be found on both the Bluebell Railway and Little Loco Group websites and social media pages.

Denver & Rio Grande Western RR 2-8-0 No. 223Posted by: Jacob Lyman on Oct 28, 2023 @ 10:10:03
As of October 28, 2023 per the front page of the Standard Examiner, ownership has been transferred from the State of Utah to Ogden City. Ogden City expresses a desire to "resume restoration" but I am cautiously suggesting to "wait and see" if they actually can resume restoration. Until then I would suggest updating the ownership of the locomotive, and maybe listing its status as "Stored" until Ogden commits to restoration or not.

BOB 2-6-0 No. 11 'Eiger'Posted by: Achim on Oct 28, 2023 @ 10:10:05
The no. 11 of the Berner-Oberland-Bahn (BOB) was the locomotive type HG 2/2 with c/n 797, 0-4-0, built by SLM Winterthur in 1893, and was a unique piece of its kind. It was named "EIGER ". The locomotive did not perform as hoped and was therefore hardly used during the winter months. In 1908, the Swiss locomotive and machine factory SLM wanted to buy back the defective steam locomotive, but the BOB refused the sale and kept the locomotive in its reserve. In 1914 the locomotive was completely overhauled and the gear drive was probably removed. In 1924 it was moved to the Grütschalp to the Lauterbrunnen-Mürren (BLM) mountain railway. The locomotive was parked in March 1946 and decommissioned in 1947. In 1949 it was scrapped in Zweilütschinen.

Sulzer 0-4-0T No. (2)Posted by: Achim on Oct 28, 2023 @ 07:10:48
Delivered to heavy industry Sulzer in Winterthur and 19xx to industrial company Monteforno in Bodio. The locomotive was decommissioned in 1967. The locomotive came 197 times to the Bern Steam Railway Association, which wanted to refurbish the locomotive to make it operational. After dismantling it was deemed no longer repairable, the machine was then parked for a planned museum in Belp. After 13 years of living outdoors, she finally arrived at the Vapeur Val-de-Travers (VVT) association in very poor condition. After the two-year overhaul, the machine is operational again. Due to the lack of air pressure brakes and the top speed being too low, the locomotive is not approved for use on the route. It therefore only serves as a shunting locomotive in the St-Sulpice depot.

Constant use on the Brünig Steam Railway Ballenberg until the electrification of route 194x; then parked and decommissioned in 1947. Taken over by private railway enthusiasts in 1965, the “Friends of the Steam Locomotive” company was founded in Kägiswil, which bought the locomotive in 1966 for 10,000 SFr. The club renovated the locomotive and made it operational again. Taken over in 1981 by the newly founded association “Association Pro Ballenberg-Dampfbahn” (since 2022 new name “Association Ballenberg Dampfbahn VBD”).
