In use at the Sulin depot of the North Caucasus Railway until the late 1980s. From 1997 to 2015, the locomotive was stored at the Morozovskaya-Yuzhnaya reserve base and was moved to the Rostov-Zapadny (Bataysk) reserve station (reported as existing in 2017).

Year of construction: 1950 c/n 1038 Delivered to the Moscow-Donbass Railway (since 1953 Mosokovsko-Kursko-Donbass), worked at the Kashira depot. In the 70-80s in the Aleksandrov depot. Then to Ljublino and used as a washing locomotive from the end of the 80s until it was decommissioned in 1996. In the early 2000s it was used again as a heating locomotive in the Ozherelye depot. Parked in Ljublino

There is actually some ambiguity here. The Russian steam locomotive archive lists the L-3789 and the L-3780 as being installed at Derbent station and also shows the same pictures. There is detailed information about the L-3789, but not about the L-3780. I did some more research and found out that it was the same locomotive that was supposedly labeled L-3780 at times. Several sources report this locomotive as L-3789.

Golutvin Station is actually in the city of Kolomna, itself within the Moscokovskaya Oblast (region), Russia 140418. The plinthed locomotive is about 650 metres west-north-west of the station, more exactly off Boulevard Lepedyanskogo.
