DRB (KPEV) 2-6-0T No. 91.406 (Magdeburg 7235)Posted by: Steve Frost, European Editor on Mar 17, 2024 @ 12:03:24
This loco worked in Germany from 1902 until 1948 when it was sold to Yhtyneet Paperitehtaat Valkeakoski Paper Mill, Finland as No 1. The loco was altered to 1524mm gauge for work there. It moved to the company's plant at Jämsänkoski in 1963, retiring in 1971 to Museum Railway Museorautatie Jokioisten and then to the Haapamäki Steam Locomotive Park in 1990. At some point it acquired the boiler from 91.1200 (Hohenzollern, 1909/2505). This led to it being displayed on this site as 91.1200.

In 2015, the locomotive was trucked to Helsinki and from there by ship to Lübeck. Finally by road transport to Nördlingen in mid-December 2015. In autumn 2017, work began on changing the gauge to Standard Gauge.

I have now corrected its details and relocated the loco.
