Previously a resident of Tigre, Buenos Aires, Argentina which, in 2002 was purchased by Joe Nemath of Easter Compton, Gloucestershire, UK.

Yet another visit to the preserved section of the Lynton and Barnstaple Railway for Lyd is planned for 24th-25th September as part of their autumn steam gala. This will be Lyds 7th visit to the line.

The locomotive was stored n 1993, at Gondang Baru, Klaten and where it was in 2008.

The locomotive was originally built for the German Heersfeldbahn, parked in tye Erzatzpark, Berlin as No. HF 2372. From here its first employment was at the Sophia-Jacoba Mine, Hückelhoven, West Germany as their No. II until retirement in March 1965. Later that year it went to family Freund, Hamburg possibly as an intermediary for Lincoln Park Zoo, Chicago, Illinois, USA where it was converted from its original build of 0-8-0 to 2-8-0. and where it was until 1998, apparently only working until Q1968.

This was first preserved at a playground at Hoeschpark, Dortmund prior, in 1988 going to the MME, Plettenberg-Hüinghausen when, in 1990, being purchased privately.At thevend of 1992 it went to the RIM, Köln.

Previously P Weickel, Weinsheimer Zollhaus (no recorded identity) prior to joining German Shell, Hamburg as their No. 4. It could later be found at the ROW, Wesseling before, in 1974, going on display at the premises of scrap dealer Schaak, Delrath and,min 1984 to IZN as Nievenheim, where it was stired in 2014.

Originally this was Hallstavik Paper Factory, Stockholm County, Sweden that sometime became No. Tjocka Berta 2. It went to the MSR at Faringe, Almunge, Sweden in 1974.

The tender of former GWR 2884 Class 2-8-0 No. 3814 has now been completed from restoration and has been sent to Tyseley Locomotive Works where it will be used on loan with the Betton Grange Society for use with their new build GWR Grange Class 4-6-0 No. 6880 "Betton Grange" while its own tender is under construction. Work on No. 3814 it self slow but the hire of its tender will help with funding of its restoration as new tires will be fitted to the wheels and work on the boiler can begin.

The boiler for new build replica GWR Hawksworth County Class 4-6-0 No. 1014 "County of Glamorgan" is on its way to Didcot for trial fitting on the locomotive. The boiler which has been built using the firebox from the now scrapped Doncaster built LMS 8F No. 48158 with new barrel to it was despatched from Heritage Boiler Steam Services of Liverpool where it was rebuilt on the 6th of July 2022. Its planned to display No. 1014 as a complete locomotive for the first time in November 2022. After this No. 1014 will go back into the works at Didcot for the final stages of its construction.

Construction on the newbuild 41st Great Western Railway 3800 ‘County’ class 4-4-0 No. 3840 "County of Montgomery" is really progressing as the doner boiler from GWR 5205 Class 2-8-0T No. 5227 have now arrived at Tyseley Locomotive Works along with tender chassis moved from Didcot Railway Centre. Work on building No. 3840 from scratch is coming along well as the cylinders have been casted along with the driving wheels which are all being machined ready for the locomotive.

The former Tramway de Pithiviers à Toury (ROD) Alco built 2-6-2T No. 1265 "Mountaineer" is set to return to steam again for the first time since 2006 as its to be overhauled by a group of young volunteers of the Ffestiniog Railway. No. 1265 will retain its post-1983 rebuild appearance and will be converted to back to coal-firing, having been modified to burn oil in 1972. The plan is to overhaul the locomotive at the Ffestiniog Railway’s Glan-y-Pwll yard.

Having been stored for a number of years now since it was rescued from Dai Woodhams Scrapyard at Barry Island in South Wales, the Bluebell Railway is considering to offer BR Standard 4MT 2-6-4T No. 80100 for possible sale?

The former War Department Andrew Barclay built 0-4-0ST Works No. 1398 "Lord Fisher" has been withdrawn from service having being steamed at Yeovil Railway Centre on the 17th of July 2022. Their are no plans to overhaul the locomotive anytime soon so "Lord Fisher" will be placed on display at Yeovil for the foreseeable future.

This would have been another locomotive ordered in 600mm gauge for the German South-West Africa (now Namabia) Otavi-Minen Railway but, presumeably due to circumstances pertaining by the time it was completed it actually went to work at the sugar mill in Java, where it would of had to be converted to gauge 700mm in order to operate, and where it was in 2008.

I should have added that the locomotive was only in the UK for restortion and was never intended for the railway prior to its despatch to Barbados.

Re-located to Statfold Barn, Tamworth, Staffs., UK in 2006 but, because primaraly currently of being a different gauge, is non operational.

After completing service it was plinthed outside, in 1966, Hotel Waldschlöchen, Nümbrecht until going, in 1983, to the DRM.
