The Bluebell Railway have evaluated the sale of No 80100, and have decided to retain the locomotive. The reasons are that it is owned by the railway itself (80064 has left the line and 80151 is society owned) and that the 4MT tanks are a very useful class for the Bluebell. The locomotive is still in store in scrapyard condition at Horsted Keynes and there are currently no plans for overhaul, at least until BR standard 2MT Tank No 84030 is completed.

Still in the state it left Dai Woodhams Scrapyard at Barry Island in South Wales, BR Standard 4MT 2-6-4T No. 80100 now only has a future as a Parts Loco as an approach for the 2-6-4T came to nothing, so instead No. 80100 is now likely to be used for spares for sister BR Standard 4MT 2-6-4T’s No. 80151 and possibly No. 80064 too.

Having been stored for a number of years now since it was rescued from Dai Woodhams Scrapyard at Barry Island in South Wales, the Bluebell Railway is considering to offer BR Standard 4MT 2-6-4T No. 80100 for possible sale?
