The former Hardman & Holden Peckett built 0-4-0T No. 12 "Marcia" will visit the Mid Suffolk Light Railway over the Christmas Season to work their Santa Specials and will also prior to that will take part in their Vintage & Bygones Exhibition & Fair on the 27th of November 2022 and after Christmas will be running trains on New Year’s Day at their Steam & Light event.

The former South African Railways North British built Class 24 2-8-4 No. 3632 now named "Amanda" has recently returned to service following overhaul under new ownership of Dylan Knott and Ian Welch and was restored in Voorbaai. It is planned for No. 3632 to operated with Classic Rail on the soon to be reopen George-Knysna line.

Please change status to "Operational". C10-8 moved under her own power for the first time in 4 years on Oct 14, 2022. The locomotive was spotted moving around the Shin-Kanaya yard again on Oct 29.

With her overhaul now complete BR Standard 2MT 2-6-0 No. 78019 is now operational again and is currently being tested before making her debut back in service at the Great Central Railway during their Last Hurrah Gala on the 19th and 20th of November 2022. Where No. 78019 will double head with sister BR Standard 2MT 2-6-0 No. 78018 during the Gala.

Having worked its final trains at the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway over the weekend during their Mixed Traction gala, the ex GWR 4200 Class 2-8-0T No. 4270 has now been withdrawn from service having come to the end of her 10 year boiler ticket and is now awaiting overhaul.

The ex Stewarts & Lloyds Andrew Barclay built 0-6-0ST No. 2138 "Swordfish" will be visiting the Telford Steam Railway this winter to be one of their main steam locomotives for the Polar Express this Christmas season.

The ex LMS Jubilee Class 4-6-0 No. 45596 "Bahamas" has been temporaily re-numbered and re-named as a long lost scrapped sister LMS Jubilee Class 4-6-0 No. 45606 "Falkland Islands" as part the 40th anniversary to mark the South Atlantic conflict with Argentina and as a mark of respect to the fallen from all sides in the Falklands War of 1982. The orginal No. 45606 "Falkland Islands" was built in 1935 and was withdrawn from service by British Railways in June 1964 and scrapped in February 1965. No. No. 45596 "Bahamas" in her No. 45606 "Falkland Islands" guise will be working a special Railway Touring Company Kentish Belle Railtour on the 11th of November 2022, as part of Armistice Day from London, Victoria to the Kent coast and back.

The ex LMS Black Five 4-6-0 No. 45212 is returning home to the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway after a good season hauling the Jacobite on the West Highland line in Scotland from Fort William to Malliag this year. No. 45212 should be working Santa Specials and Mince Pie Specials over Christmas and the New Year at the Keighley & Worth Valley before her winter maintenance.

The overhaul on the unique British Railways Standard 8P Class Pacific No. 71000 "Duke of Gloucester" has progressed at Tyseley Locomotive Works the last two years as recently No. 71000 has been placed back on her freshly overhauled driving wheels and the cab is being refitted. A steam test is to be carried out by the end of the year and No. 71000 will be back on the mainline and heritage railway circuit in the middle of 2023.

BR Standard 4MT 4-6-0 No. 75078 has returned to traffic following completion of its overhaul and has just entered service at the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway over the weekend.

The boiler of ex GWR 5700 Class 0-6-0PT No. 7754 successfully underwent its offical steam test and will soon be placed back onto the frames of the locomotive. It is hoped the No. 7754 will enter service at the Llangollen Railway in 2023 and it will give the railway a second operational steam locomotive after the recent troubles the Llangollen Railway has been through.

Following on from previous notes. This would have changed, in 1937, from DRG to the original DRB until 1945; thereafter with DB (rather than the newly created DR).

The Avonside built 0-4-0ST Works No. 1908 "Fred" was built in 1925 for use at ICI Tunstead Quarry near Buxton in the Peak district of Derbyshire. It worked there until the early 1970s when it was sold for preservation, first going to the short lived Steam Centre at Market Overton in Rutland before moving to the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway. Round the late 1980s and 1990s this Avonside built 0-4-0ST was sold for preservation to the Stoomcentrum Maldegem in Belgium where "Fred" has been operating ever since.

The former War Department Longmoor ND Military Railway Hunslet Built Austerity 0-6-0ST No. 196 "Errol Lonsdale" has recently returned to traffic at Stoomcentrum Maldegem following completion of a bottom end overhaul and has rencently visited the Chemin de Fer a Vapeur des 3 Vallees (Three Valleys Steam Railway) in Southern Belgium for their MariembourgSteam Festival.

This joined the DRG as No. 91 319 in 1924 and, in early 1937, the original DRB before being withdrawn and later going to Klöckner-Werke AG, at Georgmarienhütte, i.e. the GME - Georgsmarienhütten-Eisenbahn, Georgsmarienhütte as their No. 5.p, working until 1975, after which it was purchased by the owners of German magazine, Eisenbahn Kurier of Freiburg working as Dampfzug-Betriebsgemeinschaft, Hildesheim. It has later been plinthed, from 1979, in Münster. Never run for the post-war DB.

Previously Steamtram Z-E No. 3 HUMMELO that, only in 1934 became Gelderische Tramweg No. 603, working until 1950 and moving into the Utrecht Railway Museum, Utrecht in 1955. In the 1960s it was moved and plinthed in the H & S Works., Kassel before being moved to the city Messe, where it was in 1997

Now operational in Kearney, Missouri at the Fun Farm Pumpkin Patch. #1 was built in 1964 was named Hank. #2 is the other locomotive built in 1966 I think.

The overhaul on the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railways American Outline Pacific No. 10 "Dr Syn" has been completed and the locomotive will be on display during the Romney Hythe & Dymchurch Railway’s End of Season Parade on the 30th of October 2022. No. 10 will enter service next year in 2023.

Former LNER B1 4-6-0 No. 61306 "Mayflower" will be making a short visit to the Severn Valley Railway for more testing of her airbrakes from the 31st of October 2022, which will be done when public services along the Severn Valley Railway have temporarily halted as the railway prepares for the Christmas season.

Originally Kleinbahn Selters-Hachenburg No. 2 that, only in 1957, became Nassauische Kleinbahn No. 16. In 1962 it went to Schuy, Limburg scrapyard but was saved in 1971 from the torch by IHS Selfkantbahn. a decade later it moved to Nastätten on display.

As built the actual gauge was/is 600mm, built for the German Field Railways, worked from 1904 at Swakormund, South-West Afrika until 1939 before going to Windhoek.

This was originally Dürener Straßenbahn No. 4 (later Dürener Eisenbahn) that only became Schöler Paper, Birkesdorf in 1942, and converted the following year to Fireless and working here until 1971. It went to the IHS, Selfkantbahn in 1973 until 2013 whence it then moved to Wales.

Previously KPEV Cas (Cassel) as No. 1774, later 6169, that became DRG No. 89 7296 and only DB following WW2. Upon withdrawal it was plinthed in a school playground in Kassel-Bettenhausen in the 1960s, and similaraly from 1970 in Bayreuth.It went to Gramzow in 1995.

Initially supplied to the Ferrovia Torino-Ceres (FTC) also known as Torino-Valli di Lanzo), as their No. 7 until 1957.It later went into the Piemontese Railway Museum, Corso Giulio Cesare 15, Savoliano 10122, Torino, Italy.

This locomotive, I believe, was never with the KPEV but was one of 59 built directly by Henschel for the CFR as Nos. 1441-1499 (itself established in 1880).

Apparently this is Henschel 3824/1894 which became CFR No, 1497 (only once displayed in preservation as 1493, as in the front photograph - which was Henschel 3820/1894 also purchased by CFR). Slight modification of title required please.
