Former Southern Railway Bulleid Battle of Britain Class Light Pacific No. 34072 "257 Squadron" has arrived at the Spa Valley Railway for her visit over the winter season to be the main steam locomotive for their Polar Express Train Rides over Christmas.

This was previously Reggio-Ciano d Enza number N 7, that upon retirement was obtained by the Railway Friends of Reggio-Emilia Province, i.e. SAFRE, (Sodalizio Amici Ferrovie Reggio Emiliaia) via Giambattista Vico, 29, 42124 Reggio Emilia RE, Italy

TBPM was the original operator (rather than Unknown) which stood for Tramway Bologna-Pieve di Cento Melalbergo. No. 9 was formerly named BOLOGNA. The tramway closed in 1955 though it is believed that a small section is still used. Bologna is in Emilia-Romagna region, Italy.

The ex War Department Hunslet built Austerity 0-6-0ST No. 75008 "Swiftsure" is currently located at the Kent & East Sussex Railway at Tenterden in Kent, where it relocated to be extra motive power there.

The ex NCB West Cannock Hunslet built Austerity 0-6-0ST Works No. 3806 "Wilbert" is currently in storage awating her next 10 overhaul to be carried out.

After Nine years out of action the overhaul and rebuild on ex GWR 5700 Class 0-6-0PT No. 9681 is now completed as the locomotive was unveiled in its immaculate BR Black livery. Now operational again No. 9681 will begin testing and running trials before entering service at the Dean Forest Railway possibly over the Christmas season or in the New Year.

Priior to WW1 thi was actually C.E.E. (Central Eastern Europe), Serbia No. 391, that only became CSD No. U47 001 in 1920. It has latterly worked on the JHMD from Jindrich-Hradec, Czechia.

After working for the SV this worked, in the original identity (4) for SF Alessandria-Ovada before joining the FS and, in 1933, went to Soc. Edison, Milano prior to going to Pian di Borno, Province of Brescia, Italy.

Originally delivered to the SV as No. 102, that later bacame No. 321. In 1969 it went to Pietra SpA, Sabilimento di Omegna in the latter identity, and in 1973 reached the museum in Bologna, Emilia-Romagna region, Italy.

Loano is in the Province of Savona, Italy, and the locomotive was still extant in 2004.

Originally Porto-Povoa e Famalicao (PPeF) No. 14 named Eleuterio Dafonseca, that only became the Nationalised CP No. E-151 from 1947. It was in service from 1927 as No. 31 for the North of Portugal Railway, whence it was converted from its build gauge of 900mm to that of the surrounding railways of 1000mm. Upon retirement it joined other examples at Lousada, Porto District, Portugal

The former Port of Par Bagnall built 0-4-0ST Works No. 2572 "Judy" is currently being overhauled in the sheds at Bodmin General.

Previously Minho e Douro No. 404 from new, that only became CP No. E-164 from 1947. It was in service for the latter until 1978 and went for preservation, and continued running, to La Traction SA, Pré-Petitjean, 2362 Montfaucon, Jura, Switzerland in 1992.

Previously Minho e Douro No. 403 from new, that only became CP No. E-163 from 1947. Prior to being located in Entroncamento, a municipality in district of Santarém in the Médio Tejo Subregion of Centro Region, Portugal, the locomotive was first kept for preservation by the CP at a previous depot in Estremoz.

The former LMS Black Five 4-6-0 No. 45407 is visiting the Wensleydale Railway again to work their Polar Express Train Rides over the Christmas season and mince pie specials into the New Year.

After a successful Autumn Steam Gala at the East Lancashire Railway, the ex Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Pug 0-4-0ST No. 51218 is to remain at the East Lancashire Railway until the New Year in Januray 2023.

The ex NCB Hetton Colliery and Fishburn Coke Works Andrew Barclay built 0-4-0ST No. 54 (No. 22) is now operational again and will soon be entering service at the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Steam Railway over the Christmas season hauling their Santa Speicals,

Having successfully passed its steam test, the repairs to ex GWR 9400 Class 0-6-0PT No. 9466 have now been finished and the locomotive now has a new 14 month boiler ticket, allowing it to haul passenger trains at the West Somerset Railway again. Following testing and running in No. 9466 will be working Santa Specials over Christmas and from 2023 No. 9466 will be running at the West Somerset Railway as well as visits to other preserved railways around the UK, as well as possible mainline running as No. 9466 still has her mainline equipment and its mainline registration still.

The overhaul on former Southern Railway Bulleid Battle of Britain Class Light Pacific No. 34070 "Manston" has now been completed and the locomotive is operational again as she has just left Herston Works the base for Southern Locomotives Ltd. and has been placed back onto the Swanage Railway for testing and running in trials before entering service over the Christmas season.

This locomotive, with no recorded identity, was still extant during 2003 in the village of Cinzano, on the SS231 highway that is part of Santa Vittoria d Alba,, Piemonte, Italy.

Further tomprevious notes, this tram was, prior to WW1, No. 7 of the ZET, that only became Part of the Doetinchem Tramway as ZE 607 from 1934. From 1954 it was preserved at the museum in Utrecht; and has been with the NSS, Valkenburg, Limburg, Netherlands for several years and where it was in 2010.

After a period of being preserved on or near the premises of Johannes-Nickel-Weg 5, 35085 Ebsdorfergrund, Dreihausen for over a decade from 1972 this returned in 1988 to its original location.

This was previously Salzwedeler Kleinbahn No. 5, later Altmärkische Kb that, in 1928, became Franzburger Kb No. 9 then Pommersche Landesbahn (PLB) No. 130N3306, later only No. 130. I can find no record of it ever belonging to DB (as currently listed though it probably was part of DRG as No. 99 5611 1925-1937 followed by the original DRB 1937-1945), though, of course DR only emerged in 1949, the locomotive retiring in early 1971. It was preserved privately in 1973 by the museums railway Dunières-St. Agrève, France then one of three by M Prévot in Portes les Valence, and where it still was, apparently, in 2004 ?
