BR Standard 2MT 2-6-0 No. 78019, is visiting the Nene Valley Railway for the winter and Christmas season from mid-November 2025 through to January 2026. During which the locomotive will be used on their Christmas at the Railway event during the festive season from the 29th November to the 24th December 2025 and will be used for their Driving & Firing course for members of the public on the 2nd & 3rd of January 2026. No. 78019 will also be working their Winter Jolly Fisherman Fish & Chips Train on Saturday 3rd January, departing 7pm and will also be working their Winter Warmer Services on the 4th January. Then on the 11th of January 2026 No. 78019 will take part in a photo charter event at the Nene Valley where it will be renumbered as long lost class mate No. 78064 which was the very last BR Standard 2MT 2-6-0 built as the event marks a significant year for the class, with it being 70 years since No 78064 was built and 60 years since it was scrapped.

BR Standard 2MT 2-6-0 No. 78019, will be visiting the North Yorkshire Moors Railway for the very first time for their Annual Steam Gala from the 25th to 28th of September 2025.

BR Standard 2MT 2-6-0 No. 78019, will be visiting the Dean Forest Railway for the very first time for their Royal Forest of Steam Gala weekend on the 1st and 2nd of November 2025.

BR Standard 2MT 2-6-0 No. 78019, has had the Kylchap exhaust blastpipe that it was fitted from its recent overhaul removed as it was coursing some problems, so the original blast pipe has now been refitted to the locomotive.

After its festive visit to the the Kent & East Sussex Railway, BR Standard 2MT 2-6-0 No. 78019, will visit the Spa Valley Railway for their Winter Steam Gala from the 9th to the 11th of February 2024, afterwards the locomotive will operate for a futher two weekends at the Spa Valley, including one alongside visiting BR Standard 4MT 2-6-4T No. 80078 on the 17th & 18th of February before returning home to the Great Central Railway.

BR Standard 2MT 2-6-0 No. 78019 is visiting the Kent & East Sussex Railway over the winter to be extra motive power for their Santa Specials over the Christmas season, and will remain there until early January 2024, in the New Year.

BR Standard 2MT 2-6-0 No. 78019 will be the fouth and final visiting locomotive at the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway’s Cotswold Festival of Steam Gala from the 12th to 14th of May 2023. Which this will be No. 78019’s first visit to another preserved railway since completion of its overhaul this year.

Now back operational at the Great Central Railway, BR Standard 2MT 2-6-0 No. 78019 has had some changes added during her overhaul as the locomotive has been fitted with a Kylchap blastpipe to improve her performence along with a Chime whistle fitted.

With her overhaul now complete BR Standard 2MT 2-6-0 No. 78019 is now operational again and is currently being tested before making her debut back in service at the Great Central Railway during their Last Hurrah Gala on the 19th and 20th of November 2022. Where No. 78019 will double head with sister BR Standard 2MT 2-6-0 No. 78018 during the Gala.

BR Standard 2MT 2-6-0 No. 78019 is now in the final stages of its overhaul at Loughborough shed on the Great Central Railway, as its boiler was craned back onto its mainframes and work is underway painting the tender.
