The Avonside built 0-4-0ST Works No. 1908 "Fred" was built in 1925 for use at ICI Tunstead Quarry near Buxton in the Peak district of Derbyshire. It worked there until the early 1970s when it was sold for preservation, first going to the short lived Steam Centre at Market Overton in Rutland before moving to the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway. Round the late 1980s and 1990s this Avonside built 0-4-0ST was sold for preservation to the Stoomcentrum Maldegem in Belgium where "Fred" has been operating ever since.
