Ex GWR 42XX Class 2-8-0T No. 4277 "Hercules" will be able to do some Gala visits in 2023 as it is one of several steam locomotives at the Dartmouth Steam Railway that will be made available for hire to other preserved railways around the UK from 2023.

Delivery to KED Cassel - Royal Prussian and Grand Ducal Hessian State Railways, Directorate Cassel 5159. In 1924 this came under the newly created DRG and, in late 1925 was renumbered as 55 3345 until evolving into the Nazi DR in the same identity in early 1937. For the latter two years of WW2 it was based in Bielefeld followed by British/American Admin until September 1949 when released to the newly created DB in West Germany. It was computerised in 1968 as No. 055 345-3 and continued working until being withdrawn in 1970. The following year it was preserved by the DGEG, initially at Bochum-Dalhausen but latterly, since 2011, with SEMB - Stiftung Eisenbahnmuseum Bochum, Bochum, Germany.

This was originally Ferrovie Alta Valtelina (hence FAV) No. 6 VALTELINA which, in 1997, was stored in Foligno, Perugia, Italy.

New to A Hirsch & Co., Dortmund (please note surname spelling) that later went to Bauutern, Burnmeister, Hamburg where it was stored in 1997. In June 2007 it was purchased by Ludger Guttwein privately for the Prora Railway Museum on Rügen but the following year went to a Herr. Grützmacher of Emmerthal-Lüntorf and in 2008 to a group in Osterode/ Harz, Niedersachsen, Germany. It has no recorded identity.

This was originally delivery to mining AG Lothringen, Bochum-Gerthe as "V" that went to work at Erin colliery, Castrop-Rauxel. It was at, in 19k67 EBV - Eschweiler Bergwerks-Verein AG, Kohlscheid-Herzogenrath to then be stored, before, reappearing in 1972, at Herbede Colliery,Witten-Herbede as No. 1. a few months later returning to Bochum-Gerthe, ag ain as "V". It was withdrawn from traffic in 1976 and went to Working Group Geesthacht Railway e. V., Geesthacht as No.] "1".

In 1970 this went to the NSS, Katwijk and in 1973 to Neve Zeeland.and in 1980 to its current location in Kaatsheuvel, North Brabant, Netherlands

This was originally Kyffhäuser Klienbahn No. 41 that, in 1925 became Kleinbahn Erfurt-Knottleben No. 2 and, from 1940 Kleinbahn Bebitz-Alsleben No. 269. Only in 1949 did this become the newly created DR No. 89 6024, working until the summer of 1961. It was officially withdrawn in early 1963 and disposed ofim Raw Görlitz, Görlitz-Schlauroth as No. 1. At the end of 1977 it went to the DDM at Neuenmarkt-Wirsberg until 1990 when disposed of to Leihgabe an DBFK - Dampfbahnfreunde Kahlgrund e. V., Hanau, only moving in the summer of 1993 in its DR identity.

The ex South Durham Steel & Iron Co. Manning Wardle built 0-4-0ST (Works No. 1795) No. 14 "Brill" has been sold and has moved to its new home at the Derwent Valley Light Railway at Murton Park in Murton on the outskirts of York in Yorkshire.

This was originally Prignitzer Klein (local) Eisenbahn No. 19 that later became No. 08-20. It was joined to DR in 1949 as No. 99 4701 and worked until Autumn 1971. In 1976 it was preserved privately by Ernst Jungk of Werk Porothon at JUWÖ Poroton-Werke Ernst Jungk & Sohn GmbH Ziegelhüttenstraße 40, 55597 Wöllstein.

The locomotive was still present in the car park (as is its photograph) of scrapyard Koch Recycling, Moosburger Str. 2, 85395 Attenkirchen, Bayern, Germany.

The locomotive worked for associated company Kali Chemicals Köln-Porz from 1929 until, in 1937 moving south-east to Heilbronn-Neckargertach as their No. 36, its first recorded identity. In 1971 it was first preserved by a locally based group and in 1983 went to the München (Munich) Railway Club before, in 1985, going to the BEM in Nördlingen as RIEBECK but in 1987 was plinthed at a school in München-Pasing. However, by 2005 it had moved from there for display with scrapdealer Koch Recycling at in Attenkirchen

Delivery to OHL - High Command of the German Army as a comparison locomotive for test drives in the Harz. From 2015 it went to the Nassauische Kleinbahn AG, Nastätten,Taunus and in 1920 to the NWE - Nordhausen-Wernigeroder Eisenbahn-AG, Wernigerode as No. 7. It only joined the newly created DR Deutsche Reichsbahn in 1949 as No. 99 6102 which became No. 99 6102-0 in 1970. From Autum 1987 it was based at Bf Gernride and in 1993, with the accession if DB became temporarly No. 099 131-5 until later being sold to the new HSB in its original DR identity, again based at Bf Gernrode on the Selkaltanbahn.

With its hired visit to the Colne Valley Railway for the 2022 running season now over, the ex War Department Hunslet built Austerity 0-6-0ST No. 3193 "Norfolk Regiment" is now returning home to Bressingham Steam Museum for the winter until its next hired visit in 2023.

On February 24th 2023 will mark 100 years since worlds most famous steam locomotive LNER A3 Class Pacific No. 60103 (No. 4472) "Flying Scotsman" entered service with the LNER and becoming a legend around the world. To mark 100 years of "Flying Scotsman" in 2023 a number of celebrations will take place at both the National Railway Museum at York and at Locomotion at Shildon from February until the end of 2023 as the locomotive will be at both Museums then. "Flying Scotsman" will also be touring around the UK during the year working many mainline railtours for the Railway Touring Company as well running at the East Lancashire Railway from the 1st to 25th of March 2023 and visits to the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway from the 1st to 24th of May 2023, along with a visit to the Bluebell Railway during the summer from the 14th to 31st of August 2023. The ex Southern Railway Bulleid West Country Class Light Pacific No. 34092 "City of Wells" is still operational and will be hauling Santa Specials at the East Lancashire Railway over the Christmas season, her last days in service will be over New Years Weekend on the 31st of December 2022 to January 2nd 2023. After this No. 34092 "City of Wells" will be withdrawn from service for her 10 year overhaul.

This was originally supplied to E b Rediment and in 1917 recorded on the Nordhausen-Wergigeroder as his No. Eb 6. Only in 1948 did it become DR No. 99 6101 temporarily becoming DB No. 099 130-7 prior to HSB privatisation in 1993 when it reverted to its DB identity.

Oriiginally Beton & Monierbau, Stuttgart No. 545 that, when first preserved was plinthed in Dormagen-St Peter but, in 1984 adopted by Family Tenzer, at Heinzberg, later plinthed. It later went to Kiesgrube, Wassennberg where after display it was stored by 1997. A couple of years later it went to the WFL, Lengeriich as their No. 1.

Originally delivered to Igenio España, Cuba as their No. 3 which subsequently became René Fraga SM No. 1119 in Matanzas, Cuba and where it was in 1997.

The loomotive went new to Kleinbahn (local railway) Höchst-Königstein as their No. 5, later reverting to No. 44 in subsequent ownership and worked until 1964 hen then plinthed in Hattersheim for two decades before being placed with the Heating and Industrial Museums Railway, Braunschweig as No. 108.

The locomotive arrived at Norddeutsche Wollkämmerei & Kammgarnspinnerei, Delmenhorst in 1913, now a spinning and worsted museum, and listed building, working until 1971.It was preserved in 1976 and spent a decade in the MVT, Berlin before returning to its original location, and where it was in 2003.

This originally went to La Julia Mill, Cuba and in 1925 received a new boiler, No. 20600. It later went to Julio Royes as No. 1124 and where it was, though propably not now operational, in 1997.
