The newly constructed side tanks for new-build BR Standard 2MT 2-6-2T No. 84030 being re-constructed from 2MT 2-6-0 No. 78059 have been built and are ready for fitment to the locomotive. The next stage of re-construction of the locomotive will be a newly built cab and the boiler of No. 78059 will soon be brought back to Sheffield Park shed for it to have TLC and work carried out on it to steam again for the brand new locomotive.

The ex GWR Small Prairie 2-6-2T No. 4555 will be leaving the East Somerset Railway as it is due to return home to the Dartmouth Steam Railway at Paignton in Devon.

The 15inch gauge scaled down Great Central Railway 04 2-8-0 No. 6284 has now left the Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway as it is now located at Haigh Hall near Greater Manchester in Lancashire where No. 6284 has been bought by Haigh Hall as their new main steam locomotive for the Haigh Hall Miniature Railway there.

The newly overhauled ex GWR 5700 Class 0-6-0PT No. 9681 has began testing and running trials and is set to enter service at the Dean Forest Railway for the 2023 season from Easter.

Yet again 7822 Foxcote Manor has returned to the Battlefield Line for a loan period during the early part of the season following maintenance at Tyseley. The loan will run from February to Easter.

The ex Stewarts & Lloyds Andrew Barclay built 0-6-0ST No. 2138 "Swordfish" has gone on hire to the Colne Valley Railway in Essex as their main steam locomotive for the 2023 running season there from April to October 2023.

The locomotive belongs to PR - Pakistan Railways, not IR - Indian Railways. (Before 1961 = NWR - North Western Railway with same road number)

11243 has been confirmed as the third guest locomotive for the Gloucestershire Warwickshire railway Cotswold Festival of Steam on 12th-14th May. She will perform shunting demonstrations at Winchcombe station as well as some short passenger turns during the event.

Freshly overhauled 7812 Erlestoke Manor will be spending a period on loan to the West Somerset railway from after the Severn Valley s spring gala to the autumn, while sister engine 7822 Foxcote Manor is at the Battlefield Line. 7812 has visited the WSR no less than 3 times previously.

BLW 6608 (BLW class 6-14 D 14 or 15) was delivered to A. Peasant (probably a locomotive Dealer) as No. 2; Central Santa Lucia was the original name of Raffael Freyre sugar mill in Holguin province; the last mill the loco was in service was Gregorio A. Manalich (former Mercedita) in Havana province; 1181 is the post 1964 MINAZ no. allocated to this engine, so the lettering is a mixture of old and new. Some dimensions: Driver Diameter 28 in, cylinders: 10 x14 in, fuel: originally wood, later probably converted to oil

5043 is now officially back in service as she made her first moves under her own power for 4 years on 11th February, with the 14th being the day that she gained her vehicle of conformity ticket. A light engine test run to Stratford and a loaded test to Leicester will follow. Please change status to operational!

The ex GWR Large Prairie 2-6-2T No. 4110 is operational again and become the next Barry Scrapyard survivor to steam again as No. 4110 moved for the first time under its own steam for the first time in over 58 years. No. 4110 will now undergo testing and running trials before making her preservation debut into service at the East Somerset Railway’s Steam Gala weekend on the 18th and 19th of March 2023.

Currently having repairs carried out by J. M. Steam Engineering Ltd. at the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre, the ex Sproxton Quarry Hunslet 1888 built 0-6-0ST Works No. 469 "Hastings" which is the oldest surviving standard gauge Hunslet built steam locomotive operational in preservation will be in steam and operating rides at the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre on the 15th of February 2023 as a one off steaming before returning home to the Kent & East Sussex Railway.

1054 will be making a return visit to the Nene Valley railway for a special LNWR weekend on 25th and 26th March. As is customary with visiting engines on the NVR she will also be hauling a Jolly Fisherman evening dining service on the 25th. She last visited the line in 2015.

NWP #112, a class T-46 4-6-0, was never seriously wrecked. NWP #114 (class T-46) was totaled in a head on collision with SP 2-8-0 class C-9 2801 in 1946. NWP #184, a class T-57 4-6-0, was wrecked in 1953 when it was forced over the edge at Scotia Bluffs by a mudslide.

Horden had suffered a tube failure in December so Horden currently needs new tubes so Horden will be put into a temporary overhaul.
