Although ordered for running in the Harz, it was delivered to DR as No. 99 236 initially for the Isfeld-Schönbrunn section working until 1973, when that branch closed and it gained work as originally intended, later becoming No. 99 7236-5. DB took over in late 1992 and it then gained EDP number 099-146-3, though still relevant, it reverted to a DR identity when purchased in 1993 by HSB GmbH, for whom it has worked since.
