The Perrygrove Railway’s 2023 North Bay Engineering built 15inch gauge 0-6-0ST "Mr Hallworth" is now operational and is now located at its home at the Perrygrove Railway at Coleford in Gloucestershire.

The overhaul and rebuild on ex LNER J72 0-6-0T No. 69023 "Joem" is making some good progress as the brand new cylinders have been joined together to form the new cylinder block for the locomotive. The new cylinder block will be fitted to the mainframes of No. 69023 in the coming weeks ahead, while work on the boiler is progressing with the new boiler barrel being joined up to the newly repaired firebox during November 2023.

The North Eastern Locomotive Preservation Group have now confirmed that ex LNER Q6 0-8-0 No. 63395 will be having a brand new right hand cylinder made to replace the damaged one to return the locomotive to traffic.

The management at the Severn Valley Railway have now confirmed that there are no futhur plans to sell off any other locomotives owned by the railway, including ex War Department and Longmoor Military Railway (Dub-Dee) Austerity 2-10-0 No. 600 "Gordon" which is still on display in Engine House at Highley. Having last steamed in 1999, No. 600 is in need of a coastly and heavy overhaul, but the Severn Valley Railway has no short term plans to overhaul it anytime soon for now, but No. 600 has been a popular exibit on display in the Engine House for the last few years.

The locomotive sat on a pedestal at Kempton Park Station in the 1970s. She was later stored by REEFSTEAMERS in Germiston. Around 1990, rejected by REEFSTEAMERS, she ended up on a farm called Getaway Fiesta Farms near Rayton. There it is in poor condition and has the wrong number "4044". ILFORD reports that 01-1104 last worked in 12/2023, will be at Neuenmarkt Wirsberg for winter storage 2023-2024, then in use again in 2024.

The locomotive Kitson 2269/1879 (name "Kitty") is said to have been in Krugersdorp near SANRASM (as a national monument, but in poor condition) for a long time.

Eng. Osiris Stenghel Guimarães is the name of this locomotive, carried on plates on either side. Eng. Guimarães was a distinguished railwayman, prominent in the affairs of railways in Paraná over many years. He died in late 2022.

The ex United States Army Transportation Corps S160 Class 2-8-0 No. 3278 ‘Franklin D Roosevelt’ is in the final stages of its overhaul at Cheddleton sheds and is pencilled in to return to traffic at the Churnet Valley Railway for the first time since 1999 during the spring of 2024.

The ex British Sugar Corporation Hudswell Clarke built 0-6-0T Works No. 1800 "Thomas" (the first official real live Thomas the Tank Engine locomotive named by the Rev. W. Awdry himself) has made a welcome return to service at the Nene Valley Railway and will be hauling trains into the New Year.

Achim has given us some details of history of the loco: Having been built for the Royal Prussian Railways in Class G8, it was operated in Germany until 1919. It moved then to France, presumably as war reparations and was operated by the Chemins de fer du Nord until 1938. Then it seems to have been in Syria with Chemin de fer Damascus - Hamah until 1944 when it moved to Turkey with TCDD.

The former LSWR Beattie Well Tank 2-4-0WT No. 30587 has returned on loan to the Bodmin Railway at Bodmin in Cornwall, where it is now located.
