Eng. Osiris Stenghel Guimarães is the name of this locomotive, carried on plates on either side. Eng. Guimarães was a distinguished railwayman, prominent in the affairs of railways in Paraná over many years. He died in late 2022.

BMAG 8904/1927 was delivered to the RF Viação Sul Mineira as their No. 314, later as Rede SMV followed by Rede MdV as No. 505 and finally in that identity with Viação Férrea Campinas-Jaguariuna, where it was in 2010. I have no record of Eng. Osiris Stengel Guimaraes possibly just an intermediate repairer?

I would like to contact Dr Günter Koch about a locomotive in Rio Grande do Norte which he is an expert on, and which is being renovated for a museum to open in Natal in March 2016. I would be grateful if you could please forward this message to him. Many thanks.

The loco shown as ABPF 505 is not the real one. This is loco 1170 from Leopoldina Railway. I have the real 505 photo and can send it to you if you wish. To do that, I need your e-mail address. Regards Horst Wolff
