The ex British Aluminium Co. Andrew Barclay built 0-4-0ST No. 3 has arrived at the Fife Heritage Railway at Leven in Fife for its 10 year loan to them. No. 3 will now undergo its cosmetic restoration there and will then be put on display during its 10 year loan to them.

The BR built LMS Ivatt Class 2MT 2-6-0 No. 46464 has now arrived at the Strathspey Railway at Aviemore in Inverness-Shire where the locomotive is now located and under restoration to be part of the Strathspey Railway’s running fleet.

I was also at the Grand Canyon Railway this past week. Apparently, the engine had to be sent back to the Grand Canyon due to the tie downs not being up to BNSF standards, and having to be re-done. It was all better when I got there, and the engine was waiting to be re-picked up by BNSF.

I was just there at this museum. One fellow there said that there is a very long term plan to get this engine operational and to run it on the 3/4 mile long narrow gauge track they have at the museum.

LMS Black Five No. 5025 has reached a milestone in its overhaul as the newly overhauled boiler was refitted to the frames of the locomotive today. But with still a lot of work left to do it won’t be long till No. 5025 will be running again at the Strathspey Railway this year soon.

The ex Corby Iron Ore Co. 1883 Hunslet built 0-4-0ST No. 287 "Vigilant" has been bought by David Buck owner of LNER B1 No. 61306 "Mayflower" to be restored and operate at his private railway at Fifield in Bershire. But will be available for hired visits to other preserved railways around the UK when restored.

As part of the line up of motive power to haul the Railway Touring Company’s Great Britain 2020 railtour around the UK this year. No. 35018 "British India Line" will be breaking new ground by becoming the very first Southern Railway Merchant Navy Class Pacific to work along the Highland mainline in Scotland for the very first time. No. 35018 will haul the Great Britain from Edinburgh via the Forth Bridge and then along the Highland Main Line from Perth to Inverness on the 18th April 2020. Then on the following day on the 19th of April 35018 will travel from Inverness to Stirling with the Great Britain which will be quite the site seeing a Bulleid Merchant Navy Class Pacific working hard on the highest mainline in the UK then.

Now in her last few months of her mainline and boiler ticket No. 60009 "Union of South Africa" will retire from service on the 23rd of April 2020 which will bring the curtain down on Number 9’s operational career since her owner Scottish farmer John Cameron bought her for preservation in 1966. After this date Number 9 is to be placed in to storage as the original plans to put her on display at a Railway and Farming Visitor centre in Fife may now not happen. But it is possible that the A4 could join John Cameron’s other locomotive LNER K4 No. 61994 "The Great Marquess" on display at the Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway?

The North Yorkshire Moors Railway has sold ex LMS Black Five No. 44806 to locomotive owner and long-time benefactor to the line Peter Best to secure the locomotive’s future at the Moors line. Work will immediately instigate on overhauling the locomotive off site to return 44806 to traffic.

Fauquier, one of the builders of the National Transcontinental Railway. 1920 sold to Maritime Coal & Power in Nova Scotia, re# 5(2). Restoration completed between 2006-2010.

The new-re-build GWR Saint Class 4-6-0 No. 2999 "Lady of Legend" is to visit the Severn Valley Railway for the very first time for their Spring Steam Gala on the 16th to 19th of April 2020 as their big star locomotive for the event. Which this will be the first visit to a preserved railway for No. 2999 which will give the locomotive a chance to stretch its legs.

No. 9 "Winston Churchill" will also be visiting the Bure Valley Railway for their 30th anniversary Gala on the 11th and 12th of July 2020. As 30 years ago in 1990 before the Bure Valley Railway had any steam locomotives of their own it was both No. 9 "Winston Churchill" and No. 6 "Samson" from the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway that hauled the official opening train along the Bure Valley line back then. Which the 15inch gauge line runs on the trackbed of the old Standard gauge East Norfolk Railway and still going strong today 30 years on.

The Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway’s 4-8-2 No. 6 "Samson" will be making a return visit to the Bure Valley Railway for the first time in 30 years for their 30th anniversary Gala on the 11th and 12th of July 2020.
