With former Victorian Railways K Class 2-8-0 No. K163 in her last stages of overhaul which is due for completion soon at Steamrail’s workshops at Newport, the locomotive will be in steam as a guest locomotive from the Mornington Railway at Steamrail’s open days event from the 12th to 14th of March 2022.

Victorian Railways K Class 2-8-0 K163 has moved to Steamrail’s base at Newport for repairs to be carried out there and will also be on display during their open days from the 7th to 9th of March 2020.

Victorian Railways K163. In service March 1941, unserviceable 1968. Bought by Frankston Apex Club in 1973. Bought by Mornington Railway in 1984 who had it fully restored by 1987. Another major overhaul in 2010 had it change boilers with K191.
