The National Railway Museum’s LSWR T9 4-4-0 No. 30120 has now been withdrawn from service having failed a boiler inspection at the Swanage Railway and is now awaiting overhaul or a decision by the National Railway Museum on what next for No. 30120.

BR Standard 9F 2-10-0 No. 92212 has now left the Llangollen Railway as they cannot carry out its overhaul as the railway has stopped its engineering contracts work now. No. 92212 has been relocated to a private site in the Midlands. Locomotive Services Ltd still intend to have the locomotive overhauled but they have not decided where yet.

No. 7822 "Foxcote Manor" has now returned home to the Llangollen Railway in Denbighshire, North Wales and as she is needed to cover a motive power shortage there and it will give the locomotive more use there then the West Somerset Railway in its current state.

LNER A4 Pacific No. 60009 "Union of South Africa" is currently located at the National Railway Museum at York where she has been since her last run on the mainline in April 2020 and is currently awaiting to be moved to the East Lancashire Railway for her last full year in service there before her retirement.

The new build LNER B17 Class 4-6-0 No. 61673 "Spirit of Sandringham" will be leaving the Llangollen Railway soon to a new site for the construction of the locomotive to continue. This is due to the Llangollen Railway discontinuing outside engineering contracts as the railway will now focus on its own running fleet. Also two LNER tenders that are in storage at the Mid-Norfolk Railway are being moved as well to join the locomotive.

No. 6023 "King Edward II" will be in steam and operating along side the new build GWR Saint Class 4-6-0 No. 2999 "Lady of Legend" at Didcot Railway Centre during their August Bank Holiday Steam Up from the 29th to 31st August 2020. Which this will be the last time 6023 will be in steam before being withdrawn from service.

The ex LMS Jubilee Class 4-6-0 No. 45596 "Bahamas" is to head South of the UK for the first time since 1967 for her first visit to the Mid-Hants Railway for their Autumn Steam Gala weekend from the 16th to 18th of October 2020. Which this will be her first visit away from her base at Keighley and Worth Valley Railway to another preserved railway since 1997.

The former East Brussels Tram Company Cockerill built 0-4-0VBT tram engine No. 8 "Lucie" has been steamed and moved under her own power for the first time in over 20 years today at Grosmont. No. 8 will undergo a series of test runs before entering service at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

It has been announced by the National Railway Museum, and the Gwili Vintage Carriage Group that the former Taff Vale Railway 0-6-2T No. 28 will now be overhauled as both the NRM and the Gwili Vintage Carriage Group have signed a three-year overhaul agreement to bring the last surviving Welsh built steam locomotive back to steam again. Once the overhaul is complete in 2024, the locomotive will operate passenger services on the Gwili Railway as well as possible visits to other preserved railways around the UK.

In 1956 when Ab 745 was crossing a rain weakened embankment near Hawera the embankment collapsed taking Ab 745 with it. Ab 745 was buried where it lay & was recovered in 2001. Only the locomotive was recovered, the tender being in poor condition was left behind. After a couple of owners the locomotive was acquired by the Rimutaka Incline Heritage Trust in 2013. The current boiler on Ab 745 was used for heating glass houses before being purchased as a spare if required for Ab 608. The trust has a spare chimney to replace the current attachment to the boiler.

The boiler overhaul of Caledonian Railway 0-6-0 812 Class Standard Goods No. 828 has just passed its steam test after an amazingly short overhaul. This now gives No. 828 a fresh 10 year boiler ticket in one of the shortest medium-size boiler turnarounds in the preservation era. The boiler will soon return to the mainframes of No. 828 soon.
