Robin R Beck reports that originally it was S&I number 31. then Usina Barcelos number 2. It was numbered 230 when first at theme park, finally renumbered 220.

The former Steel Company of Wales and British Motor Corporation Bagnall built 0-6-0ST Works No. 2996 "Victor" will now visit the North Tyneside Steam Railway in May 2022. Where it will be paired with sister Bagnall built 0-6-0ST Works No. 2994 "Vulcan" based at the North Tyneside Steam Railway for the first time in over 30 years.

With former NCB Backworth Robert Stephenson & Hawthorn built 0-6-0ST Works No. 7849 "Moorbarrow" now back in service again the locomotive will remain at the Gwili Railway for at least two years.

I should hesitate to comment as I am no expert on the locos mentioned in the previous note....but the loco in the photo bears the appropriate number, but the wheel arrangement shown is a 2-6-2, not 4-6-0 or 4-6-2. I will amend the wheel arrangement, but nothing else.

During its visit to the Swindon & Cricklade Railway ex GWR Prairie 2-6-2T No. 5521 / London Transport No. L150 will be tempary turned out masquerading as Midland & South Western Joint Railway No. 60 as part of a number of events marking the 60th anniversary of the closure of the Swindon & Cricklade line. The locomotive will remain at the Swindon & Cricklade Railway until mid September.

This is Austrian (kkStB) class 429 4-6-2 (not 4-6-0) no. 429.1996, which went to Czechoslovakia in 1919 and became CSD 354.7152

A video of the engine has surfaced recently, with 2 or 3 people driving it at full throttle, with the blower conntected to the throttle on a small bit of track and derailing it. Along with it not being inspected or fired up in a good few years. It seem to have happened last year in 2020.

The works number is wrong as 3735 was an 0-10-0T in Germany HzL 2. Please correct to 3475 of 1908. Although looking at the photo it appears to be painted 3 or 5.

It has been discovered that the driving wheels of the new build LMS Patriot 4-6-0 No. 5551 "The Unknown Warrior" will need to be scrapped and replaced with brand new stronger driving wheel sets following some serious cracks in them.

The final date of the final farewell steaming of ex LNER A4 Pacific No. 60009 "Union of South Africa" at the East Lancashire Railway before she is withdrawn from service for retirement for static display has been unveiled for the New Years weekend from the 31st of December 2021 to the 3rd of January 2022. After this Number 9 will be moved to a yet-to-be-decided location for static display. But until then the A4 remains in traffic at the East Lancashire Railway and will take part in their Autumn Steam Gala weekend from the 15th to 17th of October 2021 which will be the locomotive’s last ever Steam Gala appearance then.

The former Midland Railway 4F 0-6-0 No. 43924 has been withdrawn from service for its 10 year overhaul. Before it was withdrawn the locomotive was used extensively in filming for the upcoming sequel of The Railway Children.

No. 4079 is to make her first public steaming for the first time in the UK since 1977 and also since her last steaming in Australia in 1994 during the bank holiday steam up at Didcot over the bank holiday weekend of August 28th to 30th 2021. This will see the locomotive move under steam for the very first time since being repatriated from Australia in 2000 and will mark the end of her restoration. It is planned for the locomotive to run in the yard at Didcot and be turned on the turntable during the steam up, but it will not be hauling any trains just yet.

The former Pleystowe Mill Hunslet built 0-4-2T No. 7 "Seaforth" is being repatriated to the UK as the locomotive is relocating to its new home at the Statfold Barn Railway at Tamworth in Staffordshire where it will now be part of their groing collection of narrow gauge locomotives there.

It has been announced by its owners Locomotive Services Ltd. that ex GWR Modified Hall Class 4-6-0 No. 6960 "Raveningham Hall" will be relocating to the One:One Collection (Locomotive Storage Ltd.) at Margate in Kent for display and undercover storage for 18 months. The future of No. 6960 will be considered when there is time for a full inspection on the locomotive.

just been confirmed this shay locomotive has been sold. But it’s unknown where it has been sold to. Ozark mountain confirms this today.
