The ex GWR 2884 Class 2-8-0 No. 3802, has been undergoing a bottom end overhaul in the sheds at Llangollen, and is now set to return to service at the Langollen Railway during their Branch Line Gala on the 12th to 14th of April 2024.

Ex GWR Heavy freight 2884 Class 2-8-0 No. 3802 will make its first visit to the Great Central Railway as their second visiting locomotive for their Autumn Steam Gala from the 30th of September to the 3rd of October 2021.

Ex GWR Heavy freight 2-8-0 No. 3802 has been sold to new owners who have formed 3802 Ltd and is to remain at the Llangollen Railway for now and will be returned to traffic in the spring next year following some repairs carried out to its tender as the locomotive still has 8 years left on its boiler ticket.

The ex GWR Heavy freight 2-8-0 No. 3802 has now been withdrawn from service at the Llangollen Railway and has now been put up for sale.

The GWR Heavy freight 2-8-0 No. 3802 has been undergoing test runs at the Llangollen Railway following completion of its overhaul. With only a few jobs left to do including painting the locomotive in BR Black livery it should enter traffic at the start of the Llangollen Railway s running season this year.

This locomotive is no longer located at Bodmin, it is undergoing undergoing restoration at the Llangollen Railway and its home base is the South Devon Railway at Buckfastleigh.
