Because of electrification, this prototype ‘Pacific’ in Scandinavia, along with ten others of the same class, were sold at a low (possibly) scrap value price in 1937 to Danish State Railways (hence the DSB number). After many year’s service it returned to Sweden for preservation in exchange for SJ Class R 0–10-0 No. 975, of a similar weight as Denmark law precludes the export of scrap metal.

This was the first of 98 (and most numerous) class of passenger locomotives built for the SJ. A further 3 were built for the SWB during WW2, the company and stock being absorbed into S J during 1945.

Prior to it’s ‘adoption’ by the SJ in 1946, it was also purchased and spent 5 years, from 1941 with the Nassjö Oskarsham Railway as their No. 37.

This Class AB locomotive, when in traffic, later went to the Grangesberg Oxelösunds Railway (TGOJ) prior to withdrawal and later, in 1956, presentation to the Swedish Railway Museum.

Apparently, when given a Belpaire boiler it was re-designated from Class B to Class Ba 1 and re-numbered 43 prior to withdrawal.

With its overhaul now completed the Isle of Man Railway’s Beyer Peacock & Co. built 2-4-0T No. 11 "Maitland" has now returned home and will soon be in service on the Isle of Man Railway again at the start of the 2022 running season.

No. 4920 "Dumbleton Hall" has taken a very unusual path in preservation as the locomotive has now left the UK. No. 4920 has had a cosmetic reastoration carried out Carnforth and has been painted in red livery as the Hogwarts Express and it has been announced that the former Great Western Railway Hall Class 4-6-0 has been sold to Warner Bros for preservation as a static exibit in Japan. The locomotive and two former BR MkI Coaches left Carnforth for Southampton Docks a week before Christmas 2021 to be loaded aboard a cargo ship to Japan. No. 4920 will be placed on display at the new Warner Bros Harry Potter Studio Tour at Toshimaen in Tokyo which is due to open in 2023.

Former Southern Railway Bulleid Battle of Britain Class Light Pacific No. 34072 "257 Squadron" will be visiting the Great Central Railway as their second visiting locomotive for thie Winter Steam Gala from the 28th to 30th of January 2022.

With the locomotive now in the final stages of its overhaul as its boiler has been refitted to the mainframes its been decided by Didcot that ex Linby Colliery Hunslet built 0-6-0ST Works No. 2409 "King George" will remain as it is as a saddle tank locomotive as the plans to have it rebuilt as Thomas the Tank Engine have now been abandoned. Once the overhaul is completed the locomotive will be made available for hire to other preserved railways around the UK.

ILFORD reports sightings of the loco in December 2021 at Perm II depot, possibly en route to Tikhoretsk and at Samara on 17th December, later at Saratov on 19th December.

The Llangollen Railway Trust have argreed to extend the hire of Austin Motor Co. Ltd 1932 Kitson & Co built 0-6-0ST Works No. 5459 "Austin No 1" to the Somerset & Dorset Railway Heritage Trust at Midsomer Norton in Somerset for the 2022 season.

Built in 1984 to 3 ft gauge. The locomotive is not a diesel outline. Exactly what has happened to it no one seems to know but the park it was operating at was largely destroyed during the conflict. It was probably abandoned, sold or scrapped. In any case it is not operating at the park.

With no intermediate plans for a overhaul No. 43924 will be placed on static display at the Exhibition Shed at Oxenhope. Where the locomotive will remain for now until its next overhaul.

I can confirm the dump was cleared out 20 or so years ago the locos going to a steelworks for scrapping
